Thanks to Ron for bringing this one along. Fantasia pours a cloudy, golden-yellow color topped off with a foamy white head that fizzles almost like the foam on a soda as it settles down to nothing but a ring. Lots of carbonation on this one, it seems, as a swirl of the glass produces a loud fizzling noise.

The aroma is a nice mixture of lightly sweet fruits with some funk in the under-body. As far as the fruit goes, I'm picking up some green apples, lemon zest, and peach. The peach starts of small, but becomes the most prominent fruit as the beer starts to warm up just a bit. Some light funk aromas from the yeast join with a faint oak and wet wood combination. There's a bit of acidic tartness on the nose, but not much, and certainly not enough to make me believe this one will be puckering - I guess we'll see.

Fantasia has a very light tartness and sour quality to it - just enough to kind of tingle the senses, but not enough to alienate someone who's easing their way into the world of sours (something Beatification might do). It's very "smooth" on the palate and easy to vibe with, but still provides a reasonably nice sour character for the long-time sour fanatics.

The peach and green apple flavors seem to "pop" the most - especially the peach. The slight tartness turns into a lasting sweetness; ripe peaches, juicy green apples, and pears. The finish combines with a bit of funky yeast and that same wet wood and oak presence that was picked up in the aroma. Medium bodied, smooth and soft, highly carbonated with an almost dry finish.

Very tasty beer, although it may be slightly overrated. Though having this almost back to back with a Beat Batch 05 probably wasn't fair to Fantasia. Nevertheless, still a great beer and a very good one to introduce people to the world of wild ales and sours, though it's not necessarily an easy one to get, especially in the Midwest.

Thanks, cavemanlaywer!

A hazed dark peach color without a lot of visible carbonation. Only a thin off-white ring of small bubbles crowns the top of the beer, leaving the glass nearly clean on the way down, with just a touch of a shiny sheen.

Lovely aroma: huge amounts of authentic, juicy, summertime peaches, along with a mild sour character, and a hint of a grassy funk. This is genuinely fruit-forward, and the fruit smells superb. It's not exactly complex, but the fruit is such an absolute star there's nothing to complain about.

This is fairly close to drinking peach juice, which is in fact, delicious. Again, the authentic, juicy, ripe flavors of peach storm the palate, along with an incredible peach finish that lasts and lasts. There isn't a lot of other complexities going on, with only a very mild earthy funk character and a low to moderate level of sourness. Good, easy drinking, perfect for hot weather, but not overly interesting.

Medium bodied with very low carbonation. I think this is the one aspect where the beer could be markedly improved. Juice-like. Below average.

Very good, but this one left me just a touch disappointed. I think more carbonation could have really aided this otherwise stupendous beer.

A - Light golden orange with a haze. Small white head to it

S - Sweet juicy peaches. Light tartness and lactic acid

T - Peach up front, sour tartness and a light funk that gives it some blue cheese /farmhouse

M - Light carbonation and lighter body. Slight funkiness that lingers on in the finish

O - Solid peach beer but not as much as I'd like. Lighter sour presence as well. Would have liked to have a bit more peach and tartness

Thanks to Paul for sharing this one at the mini Peach sour tasting.

A: Pours a slightly hazy orange (probably because my pour was from closer to the bottom of the bottle), with a bubbly white head on top, about 1 finger in height. Quick reduction to a ring around the top.

S: Light peaches and apricot upfront with a touch of tartness. Plenty of funk mixed in on the aroma, light vanilla and faint oak. Not as tart as I was hoping.

T: Similar to the aroma, nice peachy flavor mixed with funk. Slightly acidic with a bit of lemon. Slightly floral as well. The oak comes through a little bit with more barnyard funk.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

O: Quite good, but compared to PnB, just wasn't as good as I was hoping. I think a bit more sour/tartness would really do it wonders.

Poured from the 750ml bottle into a champagne flute. Body is a lightly cloudy golden color with plenty of carbonation, topped by a touch of creamy white head. Tart aroma of lactic sourness, with a bit of sweetness from the peaches and a mild floral note from the hops.
Palate is a wonderfully complex blend of tart, sour lactic notes and sweet, fruity peach. A mild hop presence adds some bitterness. Body is well-carbonated, crisp, and dry, with a puckery finish. This is a fantastic beer, one of the best sour ales I've had from the US, Belgium, or anywhere.

750ml bottle decanted and served in a Cantillon tulip. Shared with schen9303.

Pours a filmy white head with poor retention. Beer is slightly cloudy orange goldenrod. Oily legs with very sparse, spotty lace with little stick. Not the greatest for the style.

Nose is tart white peach with some band-aid must and cobwebs. Only mildly aromatic. Fruity but funkiness is pretty muted.

Opens white peach tartness. Spicy sour through the middle with hints of lemon rind and peppercorn. Hay and cobwebs. More sour peach pulp and skin towards the end. Mildly tart finish. Fruity aftertaste. Decent but nothing that really stands out. Fruit characteristics very muted.

Light bodied with moderate retention. Oily, thin and crisp in the mouth and goes down accented. Finishes filmy with a lingering aftertaste. Solid.

Perhaps this was different months ago but at this points, its fading rather fast. Fruit characteristics are still present... but just barely. Still a decent beer but not worth the asking price. Pretty run-of-the-mill in appearance, nose, flavor and body.

2nd batch, Thanks @suncrust, split

Bright body, soapy head retention - decent amount of brett, tart, peach, lactic and a touch funky. Light-bodied with a slightly dry finish - very drinkable and very good. Would definitely be interested in snagging some bottles in the future though its seems the release-hype may be a bit excessive

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Reviewed from notes.

Appearance - Hazy golden orange. Small white head and very slight retention.

Smell - Lemon sour. Wheat malts. Not such an intense sour. A lot of acidic byproducts. Bretty and the peach is faint.

Taste - Peaches are much more prominent here. The sourness is light, but citrusy. Bready malts and a hint of acetic acid. Like other Uprights, the sourness is as prominent as the malts.

Mouthfeel - Tingly sourness. Maybe a little thick and heavy, but well carbonated.

Overall - Really good. Upright doesn't make the cleanest sours, but the flavors come out complex and nice.
