So, I'm a little confused, the bottle is Sole Comp, and has M & M on the label, but the beer says "whiskey and wine barrel aged stout" - so maybe wrong label here?
Bottle 219 of 250
Pours dark brown with a rim of tan foam. Smells of blackberry, oak, chocolate, some booze, some leather and dark juicy malts. Flavor is coffee, some tart plums and blackberry, some cocoa, dark chocolate syrup, some leather and oak. Medium bodied with moderated carb and a little bit too much tannin for my tastes. Nice beer, I'd drink again, somewhere between a sour stout and a stout - almost like it was lightly infected, but I think that was just the barrel coming through real strong.

Pours a dark brown color with some red hues along the edges and a small khaki head that recedes rather quickly.
Aromas begin with the red vinious oak up front followed by the whiskey charred oak. As it warms you get some of the underlying roasted maltiness of the stout.
The tastes begin with roasted coffee maltiness and dark cocoa, followed immediately by the vinous red wine tartness, dark fruit and whiskey induced drying oak and vanilla.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Finish is relatively dry and balanced with plenty of oak and spirit and malt flavors.
Overall this was a really complex barrel aged Belgian stout with a seriously intense flavor profile for such a low ABV offering. You can really taste the individual aspects of the beer even though they all don't quite meld together perfectly. It is still extremely tasty and enjoyable but I believe the base beer needed a bit more umph because the barrel treatments overpower the flavor profile a bit much. Maybe one or the other (wine/whiskey) barrels would have made a more harmoniously crafted blend.
