750mL bottle from the brewery
A: Dark cider color without any lacing. Pours like lightly carbonated juice. Upright needs to work on presentation a bit, methinks.
N: Nose is dominated by cherry and there are hints of raspberry. Grapefruit sourness. Grassiness and some oak. Candied ginger and clementine oranges.
T: Light cherry, grapefruit, and hints of raspberry. There's a balanced acidity and a good blend of sweetness. Vinegar and horse blanket. Vinous grape.
M: Nicely carbonated. Medium light mouthfeel. Very easy to drink.
O: This is one of the best sours to come out of Upright. Balanced with a nice touch of fruit. Drink fresh, I'm thinking.

At the 16 tons taphouse during their Wild Ale week long fesitval. Would love to know how 16 tons snagged a keg of this stuff, but in any event...
The beer pours a fairly dark amber brown color with red highlights. The beer has pretty decent head retention and lacing as well. The nose is pretty attractive on this one, as I get light vinegar, light vanilla, red wine, a hint of rose petals and some underlying fruit (cherry and berry mostly). The flavor profile replicates the nose, though it was clearly dominated by the sour wine flavor. Still, there was a considerable amount of underlying fruit and vanilla as well, which helped to bouy the sour component. Mouthfeel was medium bodied at most, and the beer finishes well, with noticeable sour and light sweet fruit at the end. Alcohol was well integrated into the flavor profile and was practically unnoticeable.
A nice enough beer, but one right at the edge of how much sour I can tolerate.
