Yellow labelled bottle conditioned beer, picture of a B-52 inside an orange circle within the yellow label. Best before Oct 2010, drank and reviewed Sep 2010.
Poured carefully into my 'Old Speckled Hen' vase shaped pint glass (my current favourite pint tasting glass).
Cracking looking beer, light amber with a creamy off-white head sat on top.
Hop and yeast aroma mix, heady and interesting.
The taste is also 'hops to the front', giving the beer a good 'bite' as you took your first sip. The malt content happy to hide away in the background, only just able to detect any actually, and that was as the beer warmed in the glass.
The body seemed lightweight for the alcohol content, normally a UK beer of 4.8% ABV has a fuller flavour and depth. This was very drinkable, but lacked that extra umph I like to find in British Strong Ales.
Serving type: bottle
