On tap at Toronado. Poured into a pint glass.

A-Pours a semi-opaque amber that has some orange hue. It has a creamy 3/4 finger head that leaves some good lace. I found this to be a little too opaque for my tastes.

S-It has a great nose from what has to be a lot of dry hopping. There is lots of citrus intertwined with pine and dank aromas. It really smells fresh.

T-Lots of citrus, primarily bitter grapefruit, along with some pine, dominate at the start. As it hits the middle of my mouth it begins to get coarse and picks up an odd hop flavor that erases the initial pine/citrus flavors. It leaves a good amount of bitterness in between sips. It starts out well, but I found it quickly turned and was a little too rough around the edges.

M-It is a little too watery.

D-Another not bad, not great IPA.

I think this one is close to being a great IPA. The nose is a great example of a WC IPA. Just couldn't get into some of the coarseness and odd hop flavor. (976 characters)

Source/Serving: Draft

Smell: Heavy grapefruit with some piney hops. Brown sugar, and other than some herbal undertones pretty standard fare.

Taste: Nice fresh IPA taste as well as some nice orange peel and oil flavors in the middle. Moderately oily mouthfeel. Well balanced up front....grainy depth and a touch of sweetness. The finish is where the bitterness really starts showing up and is herbal, floral, and citrus peel in nature. Light brown sugar too. (459 characters)
