On tap. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head that settles to a ring and leaves some light lacing on the glass. Aroma is smoky with pumpkin and spice. Hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. The taste has an initial sweetness with smoky pumpkin and a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg as well as some caramel. The finish has more smokiness and some pumpkin with a lingering smokiness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. A tad sweeter than I would like, but still one of the best pumpkin beers I've had.

Pours an almost opaque super dark brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of smoked malt, campfire, and beef jerky aromas. Taste is much the same with smoke, earth, and slight burnt spice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of smoke bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a nice smell, but I think the taste is slightly better in terms of the balance between smoke and spice.

Serving type: bottle.

Poured from a 22 ounce bottle into a St. Bernardus goblet. From notes. Reviewed 18 November 2012.

A: Almost no head. Translucent, dark brown. Very spotty lacing.

S: Dry, piquant smoke; nutty-fruity malts; and subtle-sweet spice. Intriguing and compelling.

T: A bit of a let down. The smoke and spice conspire to hint at chipotle, but beyond that the flavor is brief and flat. Some insipid nutty bitterness (chicory?) before a welcome smoked chocolate aftertaste. Nice finish.

M: Thinnish and chalky. Lightly dry.

O: Often interesting, but rarely inspired. There are good elements (the nose, the the finish) but it's generally 'meh'. I'm glad I tried it, but I probably wouldn't have another.

Nice dark app. Minimal creamy head.

Pretty mellow smell, something over roasted (worst trait)

Flavor is great, easy drinkin, like a moist porter, lots of caramel
Very sweet, but balanced with roastiness.

Good minimal carbonation, which works great with flavor.

This is a very good alternative to an IPA or Stout,
Give these guys a try, not comparable to Newcastle,
Which is good

A - Eggshell white, mixed bubble head sits low. Ok retention and poor lace. Deep, muddy brown body.

S - Salty smoke, caramel, raspberry jam, banana, maple bacon, pecan, sweet roasted pumpkin.

T - Wow, this is pretty frig'n good. Soft smoke and ash opens the show, and loiters throughout the profile. Caramel, mashed pumpkin, brown bread, and brown sugar balance out the smoke and keep it in balance.

M - Low carbonation. Smooth, medium-full body.

O - One of the best pumpkin brews I've had this season. Excellent job.

A - Pours a dark brown with a thin layer of bubbly off white head. The head fades down fairly quickly leaving behind a bit of lace.

S - Aroma is a mix of sweet caramel malts, brown sugar, smoke, pumpkin, some pumpkin pie spices, and a bit of vanilla.

T - Starts off with a mix of sweet caramel malts, brown sugar, and some pumpkin. Through the middle, the smoke comes through with some mild pumpkin pie spices, vanilla, and a touch of molasses. The finish is a mix of sweet caramel malts, smoked woods, brown sugar, vanilla, molasses, and a touch of pumpkin pie spices.

M - Medium bodied with moderate-mild carbonation. Feels smooth with a smoky and sweet finish.

D - Very drinkable. Nicely balanced. Good amount of smoke and pumpkin with the right amount of spices.

Ale Industries is coming on strong so be warned. Picked up a growler of this seasonal brown and also consumed a nice pint at the brewery. Talked to Morgan about this and he mentioned that they placed a bunch of smoked pumpkin into this but it didn't really translate to the beer taste.

Pours a dark brown with a nice frothy beige head that doesn't stick around for long. I think the aroma is killer. A nice meaty, leathery, campfire smoke goodness to it. Roasty, toasty malts also. A lot going on here and it's all good. The taste is very smokey but quite easy to drink. Slightly bitter finish with a lingering smoke flavor in the background. Just got a small glimpse of the pumpkin well after the sip ended. Nice. Overall I thought this was a nice attempt for my local brewery. They are on the cusp of great things and this is definitely worthy of a try.
