Thanks to Craft_Compulsive (Reddit) for this one.

Pours a dark fizzy head that attempts to rise up but fades fairly quickly like a high acidity or abv, so no real lacing due to that, but decent legs, midnight black color. 4

Nose brings lots of black malts and roast, some roasted malt out front, with a hint of char, as well as a hint of espresso and fresh roasted coffee beans, and a mild black malt aroma. Then some cocoa, dark caramel and fudgey cocoa, dark chocolate like, dark chocolate covered espresso bean candy like. Great aroma, hints of the char and roast without getting acrid or burnt, and nice coffee and cocoa. 4.5

Taste brings more roast and coffee to start, a little black malt and faint acrid roast with a touch of a burnt coffee. There is some fresh roasted coffee and a bit of espresso, but a bit more bitter and acrid as opposed to the nose. Some charred malts, black malt, with touches of cocoa and super bitter dark chocolate but not a lot this time either. Mild creamy choc, and touch of a fudgey flavor. Then hops kick in, bitter earthy spicy hops, that start fairly bitter and get very bitter on the finish. Finish lingers for a while with spicy bitter hops, chewy hops even, and a little sticky feel as it attempts to dry but not quite, bit more coffee and roasted malts and coffee beans lingering. 4

Mouth is med to heavier bod, a touch syrupy, light on the carb unfortunately. 3.5

Overall pretty good, it has a great nose, the taste had some good aspects but dropped off on the cocoa and fudge while increasing the roasty slightly acrid burnt notes and big on bitterness. It had some great characters and was tasty in general, but the lack of carbonation made this feel like it was a lot bigger and syrupier than it actually was. A bit more carbonation would have made the mouth pop a bit more and the flavors come out more, and I think it would have bumped up quite a bit. 4

12 oz. bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Quite dark with a small khaki head. Impressive color for such a relatively light stout. Medium khaki collar.

Smell - Coffee in the greatest proportion. Chocolate and roasted malts behind it. Simple, but a perfect amount of coffee.

Taste - Coffee up front, never overwhelms the other flavors. Chocolate and roast in equal quantities. Bitter coffee wells up in the end but subdues itself slightly before the finish.

Mouthfeel - It's kinda thin. I'd like something just a bit chewier, but it does make it drinkable as hell. Medium carbonation.

Overall - A sip of this does it no justice. A whole glass and you'll want more and more. The comparison to Founders Breakfast Stout is close, but this lacks a bit of the depth that FBS's malt flavor has.

A: Nice and dark with a hint of brown in the head

S: Perfect blend of coffee in the stout, it smells like coffee but what did you expect?

T: Just like the smell the coffee is pronounced but not overpowering

M: As good as a stout should be

O: This is really well done and actually my new favorite coffee stout, it beats Bell's Java Stout by a few points in my book, I just wish I could get this in my area!

Taste is of deep coffee grounds, roasted malt, and slight bitter hops. Super roasty, this is a coffee beer for coffee lovers. One to try, but for me I have had more balanced beers in the style.

12 oz bottle. Pours very dark brown, opaque in the glass, with a decent head that leaves a nice coat of lacing on the glass.
Fairly full and creamy smooth body with light+ soft carbonation.
Well chosen level of coffee allows the rich dark roasted malts to contribute nearly as much flavor.
Excellent sweet-bitter balance.

12 oz bottle, poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a beautiful, completely opaque, pitch-black color with a quarter of a finger of caramel-colored head that quickly dissolved into a thin halo of foam that gripped the sides of the glass.

Aroma: Very aromatic. Lots of coffee and roasted malt. Some subtle lactose and caramel.

Taste: Again, lots of coffee up front, including some subtle coffee bitterness, followed by lots of roasted malt, some brown sugar-like sweetness.

Mouthfeel: Chewy, with a touch of carbonation. With an ABV of 6.7%, there is no presence of alcohol on the palate.

Overall: Not bad. Nice flavors of malt and coffee with some good sweetness, but just a tad too much of the coffee bitterness for me to really, really like it.

Had on tap at Fins in Rehoboth. Review from notes.

A: This beer is dark black, opaque in fact. A nice 1.5 finger tan head that has decent retention, but little lacing.

S: Lots of coffee and coffee grounds. Some roasted malt, vanilla, and some biscuit as well.

T: A great combination of coffee and chocolate. Not as coffee heavy as the aroma would lead to believe (to my relief). There are nice undertones of vanilla and caramel. The coffee intensifies as it warms.

M: Medium bodied with nice carbonation, but slightly thinner than expected. Slightly dry, roasty finish.

O: I like this beer more than I thought I would based off the aroma, since it is over the top coffee grinds. For anyone that likes coffee beer, this one is for them. The low abv makes this extremely drinkable. Also had this infused with oak chips and vanilla, which IMO, made it even better. It cut some of the coffee and drew out more of the chocolate and vanilla.
