A - A large late-to-develop billowing creamy medium brown colored with an active slightly rocky top layer comprised of mostly tightly packed bubbles with some large chunky ones mixed in... Rock solid retention... The head turns much creamier as it settles... The color is a deep dark brooding brown... Just a slight bit of sluggish-to-moderate paced carbonation... Not a bad looking brew by any means...
S - A big nose that can be detected without bringing your nose anywhere near the glass... A big rich coffee aroma to start... The coffee also lingers and dominates throiughout... Some lightly roasted malts... A hint of chocolate... Just a slight kiss of licorice... Minor notes of marshmellow fluff... Wonderful balance, depth and complexity... New facets emerage with each and every whif..
T - All the of depth and complexities of the nose materialize on the palate... The coffee is toned down a bit... The roasted malts is dialed down a bit... All of the other facets (chocolate, licorice, cream) are present in a complimentary fashion... There is also a slight kiss of vanilla... Again solid depth and complexity...
M - On the fuller side of medium bodied... Smooth and lush to start... Bristling carbonation... Turns a bit chalky and gritty in the middle... The finish turns a bit bitter (in an enjoyable manner) and dry...
D - Big appearance... Big aroma... Big flavor... Big Mouthfeel... All at a respectable 6.8% ABV... This is one of the better American Stouts out there... I have no complaints and no suggestions for improvement... Highly enjoyable as are many of the recent Evolution brews I've sampled... They are starting to turnout some really solid brews and deserve to be recognized...

Poured a blackish body with two finger head that died quick and left some lace. A good aroma of roasted and coffee malts along with a bit of sweet chocolate and/or caramel. Beer is medium to heavy bodied, goes down smooth and not really haggard, dry finish, the roasted and coffee malts are noticeable and dominant but there's some sweet chocolate hanging around. Not a bad stout at all but not too complex and just basic which is not a criticism.
