Wow... this is one damned good IPA! Not only is its hazy, almost murky, golden body with frothy white head amply attractive, the pleasant aroma of orange peel, grapefruit, and honeysuckle tease the senses before placing lips to glass. Upon first taste, the tongue is coated with big ruby red grapefruit flavors, quickly followed with a strong, malty backbone. After a few discriminating slurps, nuances of other flavors peek through: spruce, pine nut, orange rind, and some florals, maybe honeysuckle or agave flower... this tastes like a complex concerto, a Rite of Spring that'd make even Stravinsky proud.

On draft at The Greene Turtle in La Plata, MD.
Golden body, mostly clear with a quarter inch of white head. Aromas of floral hops, citrus, biscuit malt. Hop forward with a honey sweetness. Moderate bitterness. Medium in body and easy drinking. Bready malt body in support of the hop character. A touch of pine and a hint of oranges. Overall, solid, especially in a place that primarily serves macro crappy lagers.

Piney, with a little touch of peach and citrus zest. Slick caramel malts follow. Crisp and refreshing up front, with enough body to support the stiff hop profile. A little hop bitterness lingers on the finish. Nice representation of an American IPA, albeit of the East Coast style, but nothing too outside the box or groundbreaking here. A little sweeter than the "west coast" IPAs we've grown accustomed to.
