Poured into a Dogfish Head pint glass. Best before date reads December 2011
A- Pours a dark amber with a thin head and foam grouping on the surface indicating healthy yeast. Good lacing with a nice amount of bubbles sticking to the glass.
S- Yes! Wet, grassy hop aroma that gives way to malty sweetness and a light alcohol fume. Also a hint of grapefruit. Down the hatch!
T- Beautiful. Once again, a grassy hop bite that's immediately followed by that malt sweetness I mentioned before. Just a bit of a tinge of alcohol as it slides down smooth and harmoniously. A slight medicinal aftertaste doesn't spoil the party as you would think but rather adds another dimension to the already vibrant hop/malt balance. Bitterness is very present, though not excessive.
M- Medium carbonation with a sharp tingle brought on by the hops and alcohol.
O- An amazing beer. Easily one of my top twenty IPAs.
