The aroma offers a biscuity sweetness, hints of pine.

The flavor follows with a sweet biscuity malt, onto a spicy pine bitterness throughout, hints of grapefruit.

Had this while in Virginia while on a work event, so beer always tastes slightly better when it is in lieu of working. The initial striking thing is how dark this beer was for an IPA....didn't know what to think. I felt this was a very 'thick' beer for an IPA....an odd initial introduction, but I nice bittery kick to it with a grapefruit background. This was an extremely good beer. The third one was even just as good. Great beer - I intend to buy a 6-pack and hand them out during my Board Meeting

My go to IPA on a regular basis. I may be biased since this craft is produced within driving distance to my hometown. What I love about this beer -- the high floral notes, the intense hop flavor and the way the suds hug the pint. Match this IPA with a dozen raw oysters and you will then understand the term - Its a Shore Thing!

It's well crafted. Nice copper color. Smell is fruity and refreshing. But, it tastes strongly of grapefruit. I personally hate grapefruit. So for me personally, this ipa doesn't work. But I feel like as long as you don't despise grapefruit as I do, this beer might be enjoyable.

Slightly dank, bitter, nice carbonation. A terrific example of what a solid, workhouse IPA should be. An amazing beer from an unlikely spot on the eastern shore of Delmarva.

on tap at City Tap House in DC. Smooth, mildly tart, slightly chalky IPA favoring some citrus hops. Hazy pour with soft silky head, dry finish cleans the palate. IPA leaning heavily towards APA territory.

Got a growler from a freshly tapped keg. When this is really fresh it is competitive with many top tier IPAs. Fantastically piney with a nice hop bitterness and balanced malt backbone. Unfortunately this does not age well and starts to "malt out" fairly rapidly. At $10/64oz pour at the brewery it's tough to beat. Highly recommended.

Nice smooth cream colored head rests atop this ever so slightly hazy burnt orange IPA.

Nose carries pine, mango, grapefruit and eucalyptus. Very fragrant beer here.

Immediate taste is a bitter laced grapefruit with hints of pine. Malt kicks in with a subtle yet well balancing hint of caramel, but upon the dry refreshing exit, we are back to a slightly bitter grapefruit taste left on the tongue.

Oh ya.

Poured from tap a deep amber color with a decent creamy white head. Has a definite piney hoppy aroma and a medium mouthfeel. The overall flavor is quite balanced, somewhat malty with a citrusy overtone and a crisp hop finish. I would definitely buy this again.

Had at the brewery.

Has a dark orange, brownish, golden hue. Smells hoppy; cirtus and pine. Tastes pretty balanced, obviously a strong hop flavor but with a nice maltiness as well. Has a nice, smooth mouthfeel. I would definitely drink this again.

Look: Pours amber in color with a nice head

Smell: Aromas, of lemon citrus, hop, and tea.

Taste: Bitterness from the hops, and bitterness from lemon citrus. Very little sweetness.

Feel: It has a dryness to it. But it's crisp.

12 oz bottle acquired at Ollie's Beer-Beer-Wine (you read that right) in Aspen Hill, Maryland. Poured into my trusty pint glass and enjoyed in front of a screen displaying my beloved Michigan Wolverines.

L: Like what my doctor showed me after my colonoscopy (curious if anyone reads these pretentious reviews tbh)

S: A magnificent cascade pine smell. Full bodied whiff.

T: I waited to write my review until I could taste test it next to Two Hearted (my go to IPA other than Stone). The front is pine and the finish is clean. I should not compare but this beer is infinitely enjoyable to me even if not as "drinkable" as Two Hearted.

F: Here is where I like this beer the most. The feel of the water across my tongue and the finish here distinguish it from so many other IPAs.

O: High marks here because for my local (and therefore cheap) IPA it is more or less perfect. This IPA has personality and like that guy who hawks Capital One credit cards says........personality goes a long way.

L: pours a hazy orange with a shirt white head

S: Complex hop nose. Pine, citrus, grapefruit and a bit of onion peel with an earthy undercurrent. Nice gentle malt aroma in the background.

T: Nice subtle bitterness with citrus and grapefruit. A little bit of a catty hop or maybe a little onion peel. a decent semi-sweet caramel bedrock supports this IPA.

F: Smooth medium body, medium carbonation. Almost velvety mouthfeel.

O: This is a nice smooth IPA. The hop profile is varied and complex. The bitterness doesn't overwhelm the malt base and the hop flavors shine. A pleasure to drink this.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a bronze/orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, citrus hops. Taste is well balanced hops and malts, piney, dry at the finish. Feels medium/full in the mouth and overall a tasty and highly drinkable beer.

I'll echo what others have said...while there is nothing about this beer that will blow you away it is extremely well rounded. On tap at the Old Town Pour House this IPA has a deep amber color with moderate head. Dry citra hops and piney overtones, not too woody and not too floral. Balanced is taste as well, aftertaste is pine with a nice malt backbone. Bitterness hits you up front but isn't overwhelming or lingering.

Undated bottle into pint glass. Cloudy amber with a thick, persistent off-white head. Significant carbonation. Resin and citrus predominate, but there is a malt sweetness (!) that finishes well. Refreshing mouthfeel. Not a standout IPA, but a nice, basic, very drinkable offering from Evolution.

Lot 3

Poured from 12 oz bottle dated April 2015.

A: Golden brown with two finger white head. Decent retention and lacing.

S: Floral and earthy hops with grapefruit and pine notes. Caramel, honey, and biscuit malts.

T: Fairly straight forward IPA with good is of hop bit and malt sweetness. Easy drinking especially after hot yard work.

M: Medium body and average carbonation. Very crushable.

O: Nice basic IPA. Good flavors and balance. If I lived in the area, this would be a staple.

pours a dark orange with a thick white head.

smells like grapefruit, a nice hoppy aroma.

taste is subdued fruit at first but finishes with a big hop bite.

goes down smooth but has a somewhat thick finish. not bad but is somewhat thick for an IPA.

this is a damn solid IPA, especially because it's fresh. from the slits on the label of the bottle this beer was brewed in September of this year (making it within 3 weeks old). there is nothing bad about this beer but there is nothing superb about this beer. at my local store a 6 pack is (i think) $9.49 which isn't bad for a very fresh IPA.

A - Pours an opaque bronze-amber color with 2 1/2 finger head. Great head retention and lacing present.

S - Overwhelming aroma of hops hit your nose right off the bat. After the initial hop and pine aromas hit you, hints of a sweet caramel malt take over. Hints of citrus or more primarily grapefruit can be noted as well.

T - Fairly straightforward flavored beer, not too much else I can note. Initially note flavors of pine and hops, proceeded by a mild malt finish. Leaves a piney finish to the mouth

M - Medium - light bodied beer with average carbonation. Very crisp and dry finish; enjoyable.

O - Great local brewery and a beer to live up to that. Very enjoyable IPA overall. Reasonably priced as well.

Pours a dark, but translucent amber with good head retention. Smells of grapefruit pith, pine, resin, blood orange, and maybe some berry esters. Tastes much the same with citrus/earthy/piney notes and a fairly pronounced, toasted malt backbone; moderate hop bitterness and a clean finish (not that syrupy-sweetness of the West-Coast), which I love. Overall, a great IPA. Nothing spectacular, but the toasted notes at the end make it the perfect woodsy/camping beer. 8.45/10

On draught in 16 oz glass. Not much lacing. Nice deep amber color with minimal head to top it off. Nose has a touch of pine, slightly floral, with a touch of citrus. Everything is very subdued though.... Unfortunately nothing really stands out. The most interesting thing about this beer is the unexpected malt backbone. This is a "good" beer....easily sessionable, but definitely not the cream of the crop. Gets a grade slightly above above "meh". LOL!

Pours a slightly cloudy deep gold color with off-white head and runny lacing. Aroma is upfront with tons of citrus, especially tangerine, orange and some grapefruit. Taste is similar to aroma with great flavors of citrus, citrus peel and fresh squeezed juice. Mouthfeel is excellent with the right amount of hop bitterness and citrus flavors to balance quite well and make this a very drinkable and very very refreshing beer....

Pours a medium orange gold with off-white head. Lots of pine and citrus on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with a nice resinous hop bite.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip glass.

A- a clear amber with some chill haze. Nice off white head, dissipates kinda quick, but nice lacing none the less.

S- Tangerines, with some grapefruit, some earthyness, and a hint of mint leaf.

T- Some tangerine and orange, a very slight grapefruit note. Leafy mint is there as well. A toasty malt is just barely present. Not overly bitter. The taste is nice, but the hops just don't pop like I want them too.

M- Lighter side of medium, quite active carbonation

O- Very good, but not quite great.

Nice fresh classic Am. IPA hop aroma. Good complexity with fruit, grass, a touch of oil (which grows as it warms), citrus and a bit of herb. A touch of malt in the background.
Nice full off-white head caps a darker amber towards orange and brown and largely clear.
Good smooth feel with the bitterness tamed enough to not overpower and create a bite, yet lingering long with a pleasing taste. Well mixed flavors for style and more blending than the distinct hops in the aroma. Firm malting with lower sweetness.
Fully carbonated yet really soft making a better than average feel overall.
I'm imagining summer with this drink, which must mean it is satisfying.
Bottle date of Oct. 2014.
