Evolution Lot 3 IPA is an amazing IPA. A wonderful aroma and a strong, complex flavour.

A: Orange colour and a 1 cm head that lasts quite well. 4

S: Strong floral aroma with some grassiness as well. Lovely and extremely strong hoppy aroma. 5

T: Malty with strong grassy hops. Also... weed. It's not especially bitter. There is a nice sweet malty base with notes of brown sugar. Some tobacco too. This is a very complex flavour. 4.5

M: Foamy. 4

O: 4.5

[Suggested Glassware: Shaker Glass]

The pour was a cloudy medium copper orange with a large (2-3 finger) white frothy head that did have great retention, finally reducing to a large cap with some fair spotty lacing.

The aroma was of a light straw malt, pine and citrus hops and a sweet earthy yeast with notes of citrus (grapefruit) and caramel.

The taste was bitter sweet and mildly malty with hints of caramel and citrus from the start, with the finish having a nice hoppy pine ending. The flavor stuck around for an average duration after the swallow with a mild bitterness that faded slowly.

Mouthfeel was light in body with a dry oily texture and a medium carbonation.

Overall an IPA that had a nice malty feel to it, which did a great job of compensating for the bold and healthy hoppiness...

Review Template

Aroma:  Pleasant citrus and pine aroma, with a touch of malt sweetness.  Aroma fades fairly quickly.

Appearance:  Nice copper color, with slight chill haze.  Two fingers of head, with very nice lacing.

Flavor:  Flavor follows the aroma.  Citrus and pine hop flavors predominate.  Hop flavor to start.  Some sweetness over the tongue, then lingering bitterness in the finish.  All the flavors one would expect from an IPA.

Mouthfeel:   Medium bodied beer with appropriate carbonation.

Overall:  This is an excellent IPA.  Not as aromatic as west coast IPAs, but very enjoyable.  Recommended for any hop head.  You won't be disappointed.

A complicated and boozy beer that I'd recommend any APA lover trial. This particular bottle has aged longer than it should have, so my aroma judgement may need to be re-evaluated after purchasing more.

Pours a beautiful red/orange amber with decent head and lacing. As it almost glows, it's very pleasing to look at. Aroma of this bottle is more malt forward than I remember, so to be taken with a grain of salt. Flavour start with a malty backbone before entering a wide range of hop elements; including almost the entire citrus family plus ripe melon, black pepper and pine.

A-dark golden with a thin white head

S-very hoppy and grapefruity with lots of tropical fruit smells. Smells good.

T-comes in with a taste of hoppy fruit punch.  Everytime I take a drink, I get a different fruity flavor. It's good. Only slightly bitter.

M-medium carbonation with a semi-dry finish

O-This was an okay ipa, maybe not as good as its big brother lot 6. It's actually a pretty slow drinker too. Good initial flavors though
