Grapefruit and citrus rind dominate the taste. Taste is bitter, dry, and slightly oily. An above average imperial IPA, but I have had way better in the style. Would not turn down this beer, nor rush out to get it.

Pours a copper color with a finger of head. The nose is primarily dank with some over ripened fruit in the background. The flavor has a sweet tropical fruit quality followed by a piney finish.

"Borrowed" from the Magin fridge.

Pale amber color, good clarity. Poured moderate sized white head with good retention.

Rich malty nose with some piney hops coming through. Aroma gives away that it is a big beer.

Flavor matches the aroma, with a rich caramel malt note balancing out the copious hop flavor (an earthy pine dominates for me). Back end bitterness is assertive, but not overpowering. Earthy hops flavors linger into the finish. Hints of alcohol flavors, but fairly well controlled.

Medium-plus body, medium carbonation. Hops have a presence on the tongue - not astringent, but gradually coats it with an ever increasing lingering hop flavor and bitterness lingering on the tongue. Some warming from the alcohol.

DIPAs generally aren't my favorite style, and would take a Lot #3 over this one any day of the week. Respect that it is hoppy and bitter, and not a creamsicle DIPA with no bite on the back end. Hops hit me as a bit one dimensional - think the hop variety could be improved.

Draft pour into a pint glass.
Bronze amber appearance with a moist foamy white head and moderate lacing. Citrus, pine, hop, dank, and grapefruit notes. Moderate mouthfeel, medium carbonation, crisp and lively on the palate.

12oz bottle, wine glass, bottled 1/11/21.

Dark orange with yeasties and a small sticky off white head.

Heavy orange oil, sharp citrus, and not much else.

The flavor is more of the same. Layers of orange, tangerine, and citrus peel. Medium-high bitterness that’s gritty. There’s some caramel in there too.

The mouthfeel is where this beer shines. It’s got that full, drying, bitter, alcoholic feel that makes American IPAs what they are.

I’m disappointed the 12 pack didn’t have any freshness info on the outside. Solid bones as a double IPA.

Pours a mildly hazy amber with a big white head. Pine and hops in the nose. A sweet tasting DIPA with caramel at the front then counterbalanced with the pine, resin hops which brings in some citrus and bitterness like grapefruit.

I knew at this high ABV this would be great and it was. Hard to find and I hope to come across this again. My wife also enjoyed the amazing flavor and she is hard to please.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours orange red with a small white head. Smells of citrus hops and sweet malt. Tastes of grassy and citrus hops with nice grain backbone. Beer is medium bodied yet still easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

Hazy amber/orange appearance with an average size, off white head and a fair amount of lacing. Straight up hop aroma of tropical fruit and a bit of resin. Taste dominated by the piney, fruity hops. The modest sweetness provided by the caramel malts only make a minor dent. Alcohol becomes more pronounced in the aftertaste. Full bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel leading to a lingering finish.

A beautiful beer poured into a clear glass mug. Not much to smell here, but what a nice taste. This has a great hop/malt balance and a profound hoppy aftertaste. The high ABV is noticable, but not offsetting.

Amber orange in color with a white head and a slightly cloudy appearance. Malty and citric nose that harken back to those earlier days IPAs. Malt forward flavor follows the scent with some sweetness and general citrus undertones. Mild bitterness with a bready malt flavor sitting on the palate. Ok carbonation and a medium thick feel This is pretty good in a change of pace from the usual juicy hop bomb IPA’s I normally go for.
