Another stop while in the dells. Once you get past the grocery store part you are greeted with a huge open cooler stocked with nothing but craft. Al the Wisconsin offerings along with many of the midwest favorites. I spied a handful of beers I've never seen in the Milwaukee area before. Very impressive. They also had NB Erics ale and Rodenbach which I havent seen around my area for months. I of course snagged a few. The singles selection was decent.
The prices seemed a bit high on some things. Some bombers I've seen in Milwaukee for $8-9 were around $12-13 which shocked me a bit.
Overall a solid stop for craft if you are in the area.

This is pretty much my go to beer store. Even though the grocery prices are a little higher than Wally's, they bring me in with the beer. Pretty large selection of WI craft all available as singles. Decent import selection and pretty much everything Seirra Nevada offers, to include some of the limited release stuff (Estate, Harvest). And Torpedo for $7.49 a six!
Unibroue is well represented in bombers and in four packs.
The staff isn't that knowledgable with the exception of the liquor and beer manager Brian. While not a beer expert, he is very willing to learn and listen to suggestions from his beer geek customers.
The only complaint I can offer is that they don't rotate selections as often as I'd like, but I'm insatiable for new beer so.

For the area, this grocery store seemed to have the widest selection and lowest prices on craft beer, similar to a Woodman's but with Lake Louie options. Beer was along the back wall, all in coolers that I could see. Many imports and local craft alike. There was a mix-a-six section on the right hand side, with some limited options.
They had a good amount of New Glarus (2 Unplugged series: Imp. Saison & Bohemian Lager) & Lake Louie (5), also Ale Asylum, Sprecher, Bells, and a few others i'm forgetting. There were Boulevard Smokestack beers available in the singles/import section, along with NG Belgian Red/Ras Tart. They had the lobster lover beer and some other bizarro gimmick werewolf beer with red 9.5%ABV!(omg) hangtags. Some quality imports but nothing too obscure, and not as deep a selection as Woodmans.
There were no staff on the floor in that area, but you could probably ask at the front or something for help. Cashier was a nice older lady, and the ice coolers were located in the front, for all your ice needs.
This seemed to be the best selection in the greater Baraboo/Dells/Sauk City area.
2010 edit: 3rd best selection after Zinke's in the Dells, and Viking in Reedsburg.

More of a grocery store than a convenience store, Viking actually has a solid selection of craft beer. The beer aisle is in the back of the store, with all the stock in coolers. Full lines of virtually any Wisconsin brewery of note are available including Lake Louie, Central Waters, Capital, Furthermore, New Glarus, Ale Asylum, Sprecher, and others (and of course the larger operations like Leinies and Point). The best part of this place is that ALL of the craft options are available in singles (as well as six-packs, of course), or in mix-your-own six-packs. The selection is easily found in larger cities, but because of the context, this place is pretty surprising.
The quality is exactly what one would expect from a grocery store, though it was still quite nice that all the stock is in coolers. Do not expect to find employees that know beer, because they probably will not.
Another positive is that the stock SEEMS to turnover fairly regularly. Some bottles were left over from previous seasons, and some from previous years, but for the most part the stock was fresh (checked a few Goose Island bottles, and all were within three months of brewing dates).
Bottom line: this place seems like the go-to store for beer in the area. Pierce's on the other side of town (the only other apparent place to get craft beer in town) does not have singles, and the majority of their six-packs (most of the craft beer) are kept at room temperature.
