Pours light amber in color with a big fluffy finger and a half head that retains nicely.

Smell has some great crisp hop aromas of ripe mango, juicy citrus, some dank note and some pine.

Taste follows the nose with crisp juicy hop flavors if mango and citrus along with a bigger presence of some dank hops. Very mild bitterness.

Light crisp drinkable with lots of hoppy oils and resin to help balance it out (409 characters)

Seriously? Beer that taste like onions? WTF? I just don't understand this one at all.....
I usually love the BP offerings, but this is too strange for me. I'm going to finish the 6er just to make sure, though. I haven't yet found a beer I could not finish, but this one is close. (283 characters)

I love this beer. A great bitter punch at the start but smooths off with a nice finish. Great for the summer and BBQs. This and Victory at Sea is getting me more and more into Ballast Point. (190 characters)

12 oz bottle was poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a yellow orange color with great clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Frothy lacing down the glass as the beer was drank too.

Smell: Citrus, herbal, grassy, and floral hops followed by toasted, biscuity, and pale malts.

Taste: Stone and candied fruit, tangerine, citrus, grassy, herbal, biscuity, toasted, and pale malts. Some chewiness and bitterness in the rear too.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied, crisp, refreshing, a little chewy, light bitterness, and medium carbonation. Enjoyableand crushable.

Overall: Another tasty APA. Will revisit again this summer. (715 characters)

Nice, clear Amber color. Not much of a head. Love the aroma, hops, herbal, citrus. Taste is excellent: seems dry-hopped to the bejesus belt. Dank, citrus, bitter, more of an IPA than a pale ale but who's complaining? This is an excellent pale ale. Now I'd love to get it in cans like the other Ballast Point offerings. (324 characters)

Had on tap at Sticks and Stones.Came in a standard pint a deep burnt orange with a thinner white head atop.Citric hops and some mild nutty malts with some caramel sweetness to go along with the nuttiness. The hops are not as big as i thought they would be,some grapefruit/citrus the there but somewhat tame, the malts stand out almost as much as the hops giving some caramel and biscuit.Eh I was happy to try it but was a little underwhelmed. (440 characters)

1/2 growler filled at DeCicco's in Ardsley, NY

Pours near clear medium honey amber, fluffy and long lasting cap.

Pungent and full flavor hop nose, nice

Nose carries onto the palate, fresh tasting with more hops all over. High quality and well worth seeking out (263 characters)

Very very solid. Citrusy with some bitterness but perfectly balanced. Definitely my favorite american pale ale. Wish it was available more often here in Ohio. (158 characters)

Copper colored with plenty of microscopic haze suspended within the body. There's a quarter inch of off white resting on top. Light lacing is present. A very pleasant welcoming aroma of citrus hops is present. The flavor is a nicely balanced blend of citrus hops and pale bready malt. The body is very smooth and highly quaffable. (335 characters)

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a bright golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Big two finger white head with decent retention. Leaves a lot of lacing.

Smell: A ripe, juicy, and dank hop forward aroma with a big scent of citrus fruits. Upfront citrus hop hints of grapefruit, mango, orange peel, pineapple, apricot, lemon, and melon. Also some piney and herbal hop hints. Barley malt with hints of grains, cracker, and yeast. A very good juicy aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a very ripe and juicy hop forward taste with lots of citrus fruit and some grainy malt. Big juicy presence of citrus hops with notes of mango, grapefruit, orange peel, pineapple, lemon, melon, and apricot. Some floral and piney hop notes. Solid backing malt presence with notes of grains, cracker, and yeast. A very good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Very juicy and slightly oily with a drying finish.

Overall: A very good hop forward take on a Pale Ale. Very citrus forward like a West Coast style IPA. (1,068 characters)
