Bomber purchased from the brewery.
Pours hazy light amber with a compact ivory head that leaves plenty of lace patches behind. The aroma is citrusy with pinneapple and white pepper notes and a very nice biscuity sweetness. The taste is intense pineapple and grapefruite with a nice backing of piney bitterness. Tangerine and papaya notes mingle in the background. Bready malts are evident in the background. Alcohol spiceyness is also present, reminding me of the potency of the brew. The mouthfeel is full bodied and briskly carbonated. Long bitterness and alcohol heat in the finish.
A great DIPA - great balance of complex hop and malt flavors, but perhaps the ABV could be kept in check more. It veers on the distracting at times.
