A: Poured from the bottle into a Duvel tulip. Body is hazy orangey-amber with a small ecru-colored head. Some lace left behind.
S: Real nice - citrus (grapefruit, orange) and tropical fruits (pineapple) jump out of the glass. As it warms I get a modest scent of caramel malt.
T: Very nice. Some caramel malt and brown sugar for backbone. It's followed by a good amount of citrus - tangerines come to mind - and, as with the nose, tropical fruit. Also just a touch of apricot (which seems to be a Ballast Point trend with their IPAs) to lighten things up a bit. Finishes with a good drying bitterness and some heat from the high ABV. If I were reviewing this in the old days I would've given this a 4.5 in taste, but with a 4.25 score now an option, I'll knock it down to there because of that heat.
M: Pretty thick in heft - call it medium-to-full, but closer to full. Slightly juicy and resiny feel.
O: Good stuff. Not the best DIPA I've ever had, but certainly worth having. I'd buy it again if the price were right.

Small head, disapated quickly. Bunch of white stuff from the rim to the bottom of the glass after all the beer was gone.
Faint smell of a pine needle when you snap it between your fingers.
Leaves a film on your lips like chapstick. That was cool.
Don't really want to write any more words. Just trying to make quota.
