Excellent double IPA. Great color and a perfect balance of hop aroma. Just the right amount of malt to give it a well-balanced taste and a great mouthfeel. Mediuim to dark copper appearance. Ballast Point hit all the right points with this. This could easily makes its way to my top 10 list of double IPA's.

Roommate brought these home and shared, so not sure of cost, but they come in 22oz (650ml) brown bottles. Freshness date of 8/29/13, and there is also a blurb about the beer on the front label.

The beer pours a clear orange/copper color with a 1-finger white head that lasts about 90 seconds and leaves lots of nice lacing.

Big hoppy smell. Orange rind and grapefruit aroma along with other tropical fruits, with a touch of maltiness underneath.

Pine, orange, and grapefruit hops blend with sweet caramel malt in perfect balance. Delicious.

Thick and creamy mouthfeel with higher than average carbonation.

This is a good IPA with plenty of hops for us hopheads to savor. One at a time is enough though with the abv at 10% and the large sized 22oz bottle.
