The hops seem to get stomped out by the alcohol taste in this double ipa. It's not bad but just not very balanced. If you like big beers, this is for you. It almost tastes oak aged. It would be great if the hops cut through more yet the alcohol taste is dominant.

22oz bottle. Drink 09/09/13 dating.

A: Semi-translucent burnished orange with a steady white head. Plenty of bubbles rising through this one.

N: Pineapple, tangerine in syrup, some earth and pine. None of these elements is in heavy supply, unfortunately. Hops are more floral and herbaceous - there's some lavendar here and some black peppercorn.

T: Sharply bitter with a biscuity non-sweet malt to prop it up. Probably one of the more bitter DIPAs out there.

M: Very resinous and very, very dry. Lots of alcohol reaching throughout this one.

O: Definitely a beer for people who are searching for the biggest and the most bitter. It's a well done beer, but it's not really for me.
