Huge roasted coffee and raw espresso flavors and aromas. Silky and velvety smooth. Some chocolate bitterness, molasess, and tobacco spice. Boozy and kinda bourbon finish. Noticeable vanilla from being barrel aged.A great stout from (one of) the kings of IP*s.

This pours the color of recycled oil with a thin cocoa-colored cap. There’s an incredible aroma that develops as it warms, with coffee and dark chocolates complemented by a boozy rye sweetness, and the mildest hint of vanilla. I found it a fantastic sipper with the dark roast and chocolate nibs complementing a bourbon-sweet-and-smooth character. Some heat but it’s welcome.
