On tap at Big Dogs Draft House in Las Vegas.
A- dark and dense with a little amber where it seeps light in. Light head on mine, didn't lace too much.
S- I thought it was weird that the smell was very base compared to what I tasted. I smell a bit of a roasted aroma (coffee and/or malts) and that was about it.
T- I got a bit of that malty oat character in the front, a bit of a denser roasty character in the middle, and I got fruits in the end. This was nice because I tend to not be in a dark beer mood lately simply because the strong roast characters can be cloying to me. It was what a stout should be but a bit more fresh.
M- Smooth and creamy. To my surprise there was a dry, very faint hoppy after taste and feel after a few minutes.
D- Not a stout person, it's a "mood" for me. This is an easy drink for me though. I definitely could have another which I normally won't say about a stout. It went well with what I was eating- sweet potato fries with a beer mustard dip.

Well, hello oatmeal stout.
This pours a dark chocolate color with thick, creamy foaming atop of it.
There’s a light roast aroma with some candied stone fruits lurking around and a faint coffee smell. I think that nitro changes the aroma on beers, making it weaker, and this does nothing to dispel my perception.
The beer itself tastes creamy with a bit of roast and a mellowed dark chocolate. Best part is the (heh) mouthfeel.

On tap at the Ballast Point Tasting Room and Kitchen.
Opaque brown-black with a very durable, creamy beige head. Plenty of spotty lacing.
Feel: light-medium body that seems too thin; Medium carbonation.
Smell: Moderately strong mix of dark roasted malts. Hints of dark fruits. Approaches 4.
Taste: inferior to the aroma, partly because it is less complex and fruity than hoped but also due to some burnt grain qualities, especially in the aftertaste.
O: a bit disappointing, but only because this brewery has so many great beers.
Serving type: nitro-tap
