Bought a six pack of Sculpin cans the other day. code on the bottom says 14028, so I am assuming this is pretty fresh - abt 2 wks old - unless I'm not deciphering it correctly.
IMO, this is no better than old school caramelly New England IPA with just a little bit drier finish. Hop character was weak and grassy, no citrusy/tropical fruit flavors. Draft has been inconsistent too - sometimes boozy and thin, sometimes decently hoppy, sometimes malty. What the heck happened to that juicy hop bomb like when it first came to the boston area in bombers? I think I'm about done with this beer as I am with GF WC IPA - two beers ruined by increased production.

Pours a light orange color with lots of carbonation bubbles. A good sized white foam head, with decent retention.
Aroma leads with a good deal of hops, citrus, and pine. Nicely balanced.
Taste starts with a little bit of citrus and some strong toasted malts. Grapefruit, with a little bit of peaches and pineapple. Hint of caramel. Relatively bitter, but it works well with the citrus and malts. The citrus stays on the tongue for the aftertaste. One of the best tasting beers I've ever had.
Mouthfeel is medium. A little bit sticky. Still very crisp and refreshing. I could knock back a lot of these.
Overall, I've heard a lot of good things about Sculpin. Even still it exceeded expectations. I've had a few from Ballast Point prior to this that didn't wow me, but this one is one of my new favorites.
