Poured bottle into glass. 7% abv.
Appearance- Pours a golden, honey-like dull amber color. Semi-cloudy in terms of clarity. Two-finger head that dissipates somewhat fast.
Smell- Solid grapefruit citrus aroma. Notes of sweeter citrus fruits blended in as well like pineapple and mango. Hints of maltiness as well.
Taste- The fruit-like qualities from the smell persist directly in to the taste. Grapefruit tastes with hints of fresh pine blend along side of a sweet caramel malt although the malt is quite subtle. A huge blast of citrus transcends into more pine flavors and a long lasting bitter tingle on the palate.
Mouthfeel- On the heavier side for the style, even has some creaminess to it. Quite dry as it should be.
Overall- A great west coast IPA that is quite representative to its style. This would compete against many greats. Deserving of the great many high reviews here. A must try for the hop seekers.

A: Pours a slightly hazy light copper with a short white head. Good retention.
S: Floral grapefruit hop aroma stands out with a wee bit of grape. Smells like a wheat field after a spring rain. Light malt aroma and some mild citrus.
T: Very bright Grapefruit malt flavor. Some mild lemon peel and semi-sweet light caramel malt. This has a big malt flavor and a slow but steady hop bitterness. Bitterness arrives late and is matched with a citrusy dry finish. Bitterness is not harsh at all, very mild and smooth. Aftertaste is very nice but doesn't last too long.
M: Medium body, medium carbonation. Velvety texture. Smooth
O: This beer surprised me. At a reported 70IBU's I was expecting a bit of a bitter finish. This beer is SMOOTH. The bitterness is balanced extraordinarily well with the hop aroma and comes on slowly in the finish. It has a nice Malty backbone and a pleasant and very evident citrusy, lemon quality that survives through the finish. This is a well crafted IPA. The hops are the star but the malt isn't pushed aside. It has it's own little identity. Truly one of my favorite IPA's... ever.
