Bomber into a Samuel Smith 10 oz. nonic glass.
Appearance: Beautifully hazy and peach-colored, with a lot of nice lacing and drops clinging to the glass.
Smell: Nicely balanced with some heavy citrus, tropical fruit, and fresh-hop hemp aromas.
Taste: Again, nicely balanced. A lot of tropical fruit, along with some fresh hop bitterness, and some rind bitterness in there also. Finish is dry and bitter, with nice rind and mild fruit lingering.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and near-perfectly carbonated. The most pleasurable aspect of the brew.
Overall: Enjoyable and worth trying? Absolutely. World class? To me: far from it. In my opinion, a beer like Nugget Nectar is beyond what this beer can do -- and it's more readily available. I don't want to call this too hyped up, since it is very good, but man, you expect a lot from a beer like this -- something I've been hearing about for at least three years -- and it just didn't fit the bill for the expected transcendence in the end. Glad I tried it, though, in the end.
