12 oz bottle courtesy of chrisheartsbeer, poured into my bell's tulip. enjoy by 02/15/13 marked on the label.
a - pours a deep, hazy golden shade and forms a finger or so of rocky, off white head. foam calms to a thin cap and stays put. leaves thick rings of lacing in the glass.
s - sweet citrus - orange, mango, faint berry, lightly toasted bread.
t - toasty malt with lots of grapefruit citrus notes. a massively bitter, pine resin thwack hits the tongue and lingers for a while, reminding you that this is indeed a west coast ipa.
m - lighter side of medium with adequate carbonation. co2 profile is a tad coarse, slightly oily and sticky, has a faint alcohol warming on the back end.
o - not one of the best ipas that i have tried, but solid nonetheless. a classic west coast style ipa that for me may be better enjoyed on a hot summer day than this cold winter evening. if it were distributed in michigan i'd buy a few sixers here and there.
