On tap at Simzy's in Long Beach, CA.
A: Beautiful golden orange pour with a nice creamy fluffy white head.
S: A beautiful bouquet of hops! Lots of citrus and tropical hops. Slight malt sweetness.
T: This beer is everything it's hyped up to be. Tons of juicy hop flavor. Lots of mango, grapefruit, orange, peach, and passion fruit. A good amount of bitterness up front, but not overpowering. Transitions perfectly into the hop flavor. Balanced nicely with a mellow malty backbone. Finishes smooth, clean and crisp.
M: Medium body with a good amount of carbonation. Slightly syrupy, but not to the extent of a lot of the other big IPAs.
O: Such an awesome beer! Easily one of the best IPAs out there. It is so well balanced and the citrus and tropical hop flavor is unmatched. The dry hopping shows through nicely and the simple malt profile keeps it perfectly balanced. Seem to always come back to this one.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. The label lists the abv at 7% abv.
Appearance: It has a clear golden body with lots of visible carbonation. The builds up tall and thick with a just off white head. This head quickly faded out on me making next to no lacing.
Smell: There is a bid hop presence here with loads of citrusy and piney hop notes.
Taste / Palate: The first few sips I mostly got loads of pine like and some citrusy grapefruit and lemon rind flavor notes. As I drank on and the beer warms more peach like fruit notes and maltiness comes out. The finish is all hop bitterness which lingers for some time. The body and carbonation feel spot on and I can see why Sculpin IPA is so highly rated.
Notes: Classic West coast IPA!!!
