Opened the bomber I had in the fridge because I just saw cases of 12 oz. bottles at a local store and wanted to see if it was worth paying $50 for a case. Poured from the 22 oz. bottle into a standard Harpoon beer glass.
a: A clear amber with an inch high head which receded to a thick surface foam and extensive lacing.
s: Moderate to intense pine.
t: Piney hops approach DIPA or IIPA-grade intense, yet this is an exceptionally easy drinking and refreshing IPA.
m: Moderate due to the strength of the hops.
o: No question this is a damn good strong IPA with claims to a higher level of IPAdom. Now I'm almost done with my glassful and - dayum- where did it all go? Still got half the bomber left for later though!
UPDATE 10/1/13 Yikes I forgot about the sixpack I bought back in August, just rediscovered it on a top shelf of my closet and put one in the beer fridge last week. Had it tonight and nothing I would change about my August review except this time it might not have been quite as powerfully hoppy due to the two months the bottle had on it. Still no hop bitterness slouch though by a long shot. Drank from a Sierra Nevada IPA glass this time and the heavy surface pile of white foam really stood out to the end, as did a full pattern of lacing. Refreshing despite the fact it is now only 52 degrees outside. UPDATE2 10/26/13 another from the sixpack and same deal, but no complaints about the hop bite being less than at first. Still going very strong. Drank this one from an Innis & Gunn stemmed flute. Loads of lacing at the end again too.

super clean and bright orange hue, 1 full finger of nicely stacked white head, a decent amount of carbonation is bubbling up from the bottom keeping the head akimbo, nothing unusual here, kind of standard plus but nothing is off at all
slightly green hop aroma with a leaning towards grapefruit and citrus notes, some tropical sweetness in the back under the hop blanket, pretty standard fare
nicely carbonated, much like everything else in this brew this is sort of your average IPA (not that that is a bad thing), decent hop and bitter bite, a little kick in the ABV, mild fruit flavor, the mouthfeel is really nice on this one, sort of just slick enough to coat but yet drys up nicely inviting the next sip
pretty standard (good) IPA, definitely try it on tap if it is an option, nice in all categories just nothing mind blowing, a well crafted IPA
