A- On tap in home, got a huge head of foam initially then subsidises to nice quarter inch white thick foam. Leaves pretty lacing on glass. Golden amber color but in low light not really sure.
S- Really nice floral hops, fruity citrus with some grassy characters. Very nice .
T- Malt sweetness up front with grapefruit, mango fruity goodness. Strong hops follow on then continue into midway and end of swallow. Malt balance shines with biscuit , caramel holds up well with the aggressive hops throughout. NOthing of an off character nature found.
M- about medium bodied. Carbo seems right with nice refreshing sparkle. Very smooth drinking.
O- Just an overall fantastic IPA. Does the west coast style extremely well. Probably my #1 IPA in my short journey through craft beer land. I've got many more to try[Pliny, Heady, Fuzzy BD, to name a few] but the reputation for Sculpin holds up for me.

Best by 8/19/2013 Bottle in a snifter
A- orange color with a slight amber hue....lingering light white head
S- I use the zombie dust scale....zombie is 10/10...this is a 9/10. Great grain/malt note up front followed a great balance hop note...outstanding
T- really a perfect balance of malt and hops. No ups or downs but a nice semi dry mildly bitter finish.
M- The combination of perfect hop/malt balance and medium mouthfeel really makes this a great experience
O- Just a flat out great beer!

Enjoy by 10/11/2013 printed on bottle.
Head is a finger of translucent foam. Body is urine yellow. Some lace noted.
The nose is grapefruit, mango, mandarin orange and a hint of pine. Upon deep inspection, hints of caramel is found.
The taste seems simpler than the nose. It starts off with grapefruit, has a hint of caramel then delves into pine with a bit of mandarin orange. A dash of vanilla is noted as the beer warms.
The mouthfeel is what really makes this beer. I want more. Somehow they sculpted this beer to wash perfectly over the tongue and leave you wanting more.
Overall, I tried to not let the hype influence my judgement on this beer. It certainly was something special though, especially in a style I happen to drink often. I will enjoy this again soon.
