12oz cold can w/freshness date into tulip

Appearance - Hazed over, glowing golden orange, 2 finger head has great retention and leaves ample lacing

Smell - Clean and light tropical fruits up front mixed with a big citrus blast: grapefruit all day, orangey, then light biscuit malts.

Feel/Taste - Medium body with ample scrubbing carb carries the flavors well, quite smooth. Taste is much like nose; light tropical/stone fruit hops mixed with a massive citrus blast of grapefruit, orange, lemon/lime zing, a touch of pine needle; then some biscuity, toasty malts come out to balance, finishes with moderate, lingering, resinous citrus pith bitterness.

Overall - An excellent citrus-bomb IPA, and certainly deserving of its cult status among IPA lovers. I don't know if it's "mind-blowingly" outstanding... Maybe it was years ago, but these days there are many, many similar IPAs that are just as awesome. Unfortunately, the hype machine got a hold of this one and caused the prices to inflate ($7.50 bombers, $12+ sixers, c'mon). Regardless, this is a damn good beer.
