Re-review. 12 oz bottle into a pint glass.

A: Pours a clear amber color. There's about one fingers worth of white-colored head. The texturing isn't overly impressive, but retention is good. Not that much lacing is left behind.

S: Quite grapefruity. Aside from the grapefruit, there are hints of Simcoe-esque pine and cat pee. There's just enough caramel maltiness to balance, without overpowering the hoppy

T: It starts with a wave of grapefruit. Some slight pine bitterness enters the middle, before being concealed by its malty finish. This is in contrast to many other IPAs which open malty and end bitter. This is a balanced IPA done properly - not overly sweet and not oppressively bitter, but just right.

M: Probably my only real complaint about this is that there's too much crystal malt tingle and sweetness lingering on the palate. I'd prefer a cleaner feel, especially considering it's not terribly round. However, there's one thing that makes this work: it's drinkable. Drinkable enough to make me overlook its mouthfeel niggles.

O: I used to not be a huge fan of this - it's taken quite a few bottles for me to get here, but I've now grown to really like this. This is easily the best IPA I've had with crystal malt, hands down, and definitely in my top 10 of all IPAs for that matter (when its fresh).

Vibrant orange in appearance and developed a light and frothy two finger head when poured from a 12oz btl.

Very noticeable grapefruit as well as orange, lemon peel, and other citrus fruits. A delight for thy nostrils.

The taste of orange zest is immediate and long lastingly bitter, but that isn't to say that is a bad thing. The bitterness from the hops balances well with the tart and sweetness of the citrus. A citrusy hop bomb.

Kind of like eating booze soaked fruit, marvelous.

Overall, this brew was very enjoyable, but I do not agree with the excessive score it has received. At ~$16 for a 6-pack, I'd rather spend my money on better brews.
