Pours a nice golden color with a foamy white head that hangs around and leaves some nice lacing.

Grapefruit, lemon, and orange backed by a nice floral bouquet. Also a zesty biscuity malt nose.

A nice citrus punch lemon and grapefruit with some slightly sweet orange notes noticeable right before the raw resinous pine rips your mouth raw. Excellent flavor with a lively mouth, only a little too raw for me. An excellent IPA, but not my favorite.

I drank it straight out of the bottle, same as most my 12 oz-ers. So I have no idea what it looks like.

The smell was tropical fruit with a heavy accent on pineapple. I would say this beer had more of a pineapple nose than any beer I've had. I like it lot, but I prefer a broader mix of the fruit and floral in my big hops beers. I got almost no pine off the smell. If I were given this beer in a blind test I could probably identify it on that pineapple note alone.

The taste was balanced but not remarkable. The taste of pineapple held over from the smell and a little piney hop got introduced into the mix. The pineapple quickly gave way to the bitterness which seemed to lack depth and complexity to me. The bitterness was very forward but it didn't resolve into anything other than bitterness.

Mouthfeel doesn't register much for me in beer, usually. It needs to be something very notable for me to, well, note it. The heavy stouts have an identifiable mouth-feel and do the really light lagers, but the IPAs just feel like... beer... in my mouth. I felt that the amount of carbonation was slightly light and I thought that was a good thing in this beer.

Overall I enjoyed the beer, but I would not actively seek it out. Compared to my other hoppy beers it just doesn't seem as well balanced or complex. In my favorites there is a definite resin that lingers long after the last swallow. This beer had virtually none of that; when it was done it was done.

My label said ENJOY BY 04/02/2013 so I have to assume it's moderately fresh and certainly well within that date limit.
