A 22oz bomber picked up in the 1st shipment of BP to GA

A - Golden yellow with some clarity, lots of carbonation bubbles, and 1 full finger of head and sticky lace left all over the glass. It's a Beaut Clark.

S - Nice hoppy aroma of grapefruit and citrus. Smells like an IPA..

T - A hoppy lager is the perfect description. Very tasty, smooth, with a hopped up character. Lager/Pilsner it is for sure, but the dry hopping makes it so much better

M - Well carbonated, oily and slick.

O - A great IPL. Never had one of this style, but enjoy it. Great summer brew I would imagine, though its January and its still great.

Appearance: Pours a clear amber with a couple of inches of foam on top; the head grows rocky as it leaves strips of lace along the side of the glass

Smell: Kumquat and lychee

Taste: Bready, up front, but the hops take over from there; tropical fruit flavors but not the usual citrus or pine - these have a kumquat sour/tart character along with the clean refreshing taste of lychee

Mouthfeel: Medium body and moderate carbonation

Overall: I have been spoiled by Jack's Abby and while this is good, it is nowhere close

One of my favorites from Ballast Point. I've probably had Fathom more than any of their other brews.

From a 22 into a Bruery tulip.

APPEARANCE: Clear, glowing bronze. About a half inch of head.

AROMA: Right away, it smells like an IPA. Grapefruit and orange stand out, a little bit of pine, and faint cereal grain.

TASTE: I can really taste the Ahtanum hops, which are used in the dry-hopping of this beer. They're well-balanced with modest, sweet malts. Faintly grassy.

MOUTHFEEL: Low-medium body - lighter than anticipated given the ABV. Perfectly carbonated.

FINISH: Refreshing hints of bitter citrus and floral hops, and sweet malts.

OVERALL: This is my favorite IPL, and I think it's the best example of the style I've ever had (though I've only ever had one other IPL - The Bruery's Humulus Lager). Fathom is a great, refreshing beer that I highly recommend to anyone.

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation along with some amber hues. It poured with a finger and a half high frothy off white head that has good retention properties and consistently left a quarter finger high head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of citrusy hops are present in the nose—lemons and oranges seem to stand out in particular—along with hints of bready malts and pine resin hops.
T: The taste mostly follows the smell and has flavors of citrusy hops along with a light amount of associated bitterness. There's no pine resin in the taste but hints of floral hops are noticeable.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little clean and slightly smooth on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I liked this lager because it showcased the citrusy flavors of the hops but wasn't that bitter and didn't have the bite or crispness you get from ales. As such, it has good drinkability.
