look: 3.75 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 4.75 | feel: 4 | overall: 4.5

a: hazy golden yellow, with some darker amber hues in the middle of the glass. large 3 finger marshmallowy white head

s: bready right at the front of the nose. like toasted french bread, sweet orange and lemon, grapefruit rinds. the lager qualities add some nice sweet grassy aromas in here as well. finishes with a nice mix of sweet malt and that slight grapefruit bitter

t: toasted bread right at the front of the tongue. it then pops with some tropical fruit - mango, pineapple, and passion fruit. middle of the mouth you meet some sweet malt, earthy graininess, and lemongrass. finish is tropical fruit, cream soda, and fresh bread. the earthy/sweetness of the lager really balances out the bitterness nicely. every time it wants to tip to being real bitter, those nice lager qualities help to cut it and you're only hit with that fruity sweetness from the hops

m: medium mouthfeel (lighter than your used to something like this feeling) with nice fizzy carbonation helping to pop the flavors

o: this is my first IPL. after drinking, i can understand why this style is on the rise. the lager qualities harmonize with the hops to cut some bitterness and provide an extremely refreshing, clean, crisp, and juicy beer. definitely would recommend

A: golden orange translucent color with big white fluffy persistent head which leaves a decent amount of lacing behind.

S: hops and more hops with some dry alcohol notes on the background.

T: it's pretty smooth and drinkable, probably too smooth, missing that hop bitterness kick. It has an alcoholic presence that's not overwhelming, but definitely present, that takes a little away from the experience. Lagers are usually pretty clear in terms of flavor profile, which is why this one at 7% shows it's abv.

M: light bodied, not overly dry or sticky, easy drinking.

O: more of a lager than an IPA, would have liked to see the hops being more present and pronounced. Maybe a wet-hopped variant?

S: floral with a sweet grain smell mixed in

T: sweet and malty up front followed by a big hop kick, finish is dry and pine, almost two distinct beer tastes as you drink

M: lighter with higher carbonation, no alcohol taste present

O: malt character is very sweet, crisp, and clean, hops are very aggressive and quite bitter

A 22oz bomber picked up in the 1st shipment of BP to GA

A - Golden yellow with some clarity, lots of carbonation bubbles, and 1 full finger of head and sticky lace left all over the glass. It's a Beaut Clark.

S - Nice hoppy aroma of grapefruit and citrus. Smells like an IPA..

T - A hoppy lager is the perfect description. Very tasty, smooth, with a hopped up character. Lager/Pilsner it is for sure, but the dry hopping makes it so much better

M - Well carbonated, oily and slick.

O - A great IPL. Never had one of this style, but enjoy it. Great summer brew I would imagine, though its January and its still great.

Appearance: Pours a clear amber with a couple of inches of foam on top; the head grows rocky as it leaves strips of lace along the side of the glass

Smell: Kumquat and lychee

Taste: Bready, up front, but the hops take over from there; tropical fruit flavors but not the usual citrus or pine - these have a kumquat sour/tart character along with the clean refreshing taste of lychee

Mouthfeel: Medium body and moderate carbonation

Overall: I have been spoiled by Jack's Abby and while this is good, it is nowhere close
