It's decent. It's a decent lager. Dollar for dollar, of course, I'd take this over any adjunct any day...but when you put that $10 tag on a sixes of cans, I dunno.

This one simply doesn't have much character. I agree with another reviewer who noted the lack of crispness for the style.

Poured one and a half cans into a 1/2 liter stein, poured a light lemon tinged dull golden with a nice fluffy one finger bone white crown that left a nice full ring of lace as it settled into a frothy mass.Aromas are grainy with a tinge of iron and straw.Grassy and mild lemony notes on the palate with a dryer more crsip malt base,a decent toasted shot in the finish. Not anything earth shattering but not looking for that today, just lookin for an after work patio beer.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into pint glass.

Appearance: Very light yellow with bubbly white head.

Smell: Straw, apple and almost a slight skunkiness.

Taste: Straw, apple and spicy notes. Some cereal like graininess. Not much bitterness.

Feel: Light body with some carbonation. Crisp finish but only semi dry.

Overall: Decent lager. Better than most macros but not by much.

A: Bright and lively brilliant straw under a 1” quickly dissipating foam cap.
S: bread and some faint apple.
T: Refreshing bread and light apple.
F: Crisp, light body, above average carbonation.
O: My first bottle of this was skunky. This is fresh, not ruined, easy to drink and much better.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tall pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy straw golden orange with a lot of bubbles. About two fingers of white head that fade into a thin creamy layer. Leaves a lot of lacing around the glass.

Smell: A bready and fairly earthy malt driven aroma with hints of biscuit and light fruit. Pale malts upfront with hints of grains, straw, biscuit, crackers, and yeast. Earthy European hops with hints of spice and grass. Citrus fruit hints of orange and lemon zest. A decent Euro style lager aroma.

Taste: Like the smell hints at, a bready and earthy malt forward taste with notes of bready grains and light fruit. Upfront pale malts with notes of grains, wheat, straw, crackers, biscuit, and lager yeast. Earthy and somewhat grassy European hops with some slight spice. Bright citrus notes of lemon zest and orange. A decent lager taste.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp, clean, and smooth with a fairly drying finish.

Overall: A decent take on a Euro style lager. Good bready and citrusy taste.

Undated, recently purchased, 12 oz bottle served in a lager glass. Pours very light with a generous white head and lots of visible carbonation.

The carbonation is medium-high and feels surprisingly soft. Light body.
They must use a similar hop load to Heineken because it has a similar flavor profile, including a hint of skunk in the aroma and aftertaste. Aroma is also pilsner-like, with a stronger hop note than found in the flavor.

O: Aside from the feel, this is a remarkably average lager. Served its purpose, nonetheless. being thirst-quenching and refreshing on this first hot day of summer.

Poured a clear golden body with abundant bubbly white head that dissipated at a moderate rate. Overall impression of appearance is of a perfect Munich Helles. Scents of clean, grainy, lightly honey sweet pils malt with a medium-low herbal and floral Noble hop character. Overall impression of aroma is of a perfect Munich Helles, bright, malty with a touch of hop aromas. Flavor begins lightly sweet with notes of honey and sweet pils malt with some grainy malt flavors and balanced by a light presence of Noble hop flavors. Middle continues these flavors. Finish is lightly sweet still, but with a moderate presence of both grainy malt and Noble hops imparting a herbal and floral flavor. Aftertaste is Noble hop herbal flavors, grainy malt and light honey. Overall impression of flavor is of an amazing Munich Helles. Everything is true to style and quite pleasant. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a smooth, clean feel. Overall impression is of a perfect Munich Helles. Overall this is a fantastic lager. All aspects of the beer are spot on for the style and it comes across as a wonderful flavorful, well done example of a craft lager.

Enjoy by date of 4/19/13

Appearance - Pours a touch hazy, pale yellow with a white, 1/2 finger head. Sub-par retention. Spotty touches of lace around the glass.

Smell - Subtle esters and a slight sourness.

Taste - Touches faintly on a bready malt character, hints of grain, then a ghostly mild lemon finish. Not much.

Mouthfeel - Is it possible to be lighter than water? Yes, yes it is. Virtually no carbonation. Bone dry, making it a bit of a chore to swallow. Maybe the worst body I've ever experienced with a beer.

Overall - Lagers are light in nature, but this is ridiculous. Boring, relatively flavorless and utterly disappointing. Sorry Ballast Point, this beer sucks.

The Longfin was an easy drinking lager....would be great for warmer weather days. It poured a clear golden with fizzywhite head that did not lace. The scent and taste were mostly grains. Mouthfeel was lighter in body with great carbonation. Overall it was good.

Poured a straw pale yellow. very thin white head.

The smell is very light and a touch grassy.

The flavor is light and grainy with a touch of noble hops in the finish, a bit of citrus and fresh cut grass.

The mouthfeel is light with medium carbonation.

Nothing bad, but on the boring and bland side for a brewery as good as ballast point.

Poured from a growler into a pint glass.

Light gold color, quickly fading head. Smells like a cheap malt liquor like you'd find in a 40oz. Tastes like Miller Genuine Draft. My friend and I were really disappointed. Ending up making red beers from it since it was so awful. When I got home I ended up drain pouring it. Hate to give a beer from BP such a low mark but it really was awful. Pretty sure my growler was clean so I don't get it. Maybe I just have to stay away from this style.

Thanks to woodychandler for yet another canned beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a yellow color with a 1 inch head. Smell is mild, some malts, a touch of sweetness to it. Taste is light and mild, malts, a bit of hops at the finish, not exactly bursting with flavor. Feels light in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with part of the stamped number smudged off. #25...and #3784. Sampled on January 20, 2014.

It pours a hazy pale yellow-olive color with a full fizzy white head that settles back to a ring around the edge. Good carbonation.

The German influence is clearly evident in the aroma with those Euro-barley and grain malts, light toffee, herbs, and a slight citrus feel.

Light and creamy body.

Again, like the nose Ballast Point put some thought into brewing this to emulate the German style beer. The sweet biscuit malts are formidable as are the herbs and mildly hopped finish. This is a good true-to-style lager.

Label dated: "LF 60 14150"
Which could be May 2014, almost a year old.

I was looking forward to this but unfortunately the bottle I bought was infected.

Pale pastel yellow, excessive foam, no lacing. Cloudy with ever present carbonation.

Aroma is minerally and grassy, wet stone and grains.
Taste is moderately tart, which was unexpected. Grainy and bland, astringent.
Feels strange with a dry mealy aftertaste. Overall not a good experience. Might try on tap, but will likely avoid the bottles in the future.

Clear pale gold with a huge white head and some lacing.
Smell is grassy euro hops.
Taste is light euro hops with a good amount of malts.
Mouthfeel is just right for this style.
Overall an easy drinking lager with just enough flavor to put AALs to shame. Nice beer.

Clear straw color covered with a bubbly pure-white head that has decent retention. Aromas of peppery, herbal hops, gently sweet Pils malt, and clean lager yeast. Cereal-like Pilsner malt sweetness in the flavor with some grassy noble hops to balance and a touch of honey. Body is a little better than light keeping things very drinkable. A good light lager for sure and a more than solid choice for hot weather drinking.

About as good as any Lager gets...served fresh on-tap in a pint glass. This is a very light gold with brilliant clarity and a small white head that thins to a layer. Decent carbonation with some delicate lacing.

Smells somewhat sweet and malty, light roasty aroma with a hint of hops bringing up the tail end. Looks much lighter than it smells.

Mildly sweet grainy malt that fills the pallate briefly, then a bittering and crisp dryness with a grassy hop finish. Quite malty overall, but not overly sweet by any means...pleasant tasting.

Light body with good carbonation and a mild ABV, this is a brew that takes the heat out of Summer. A good solid offering from Ballast Point that suits it's style well...recommended!

A- Pouring the can reveals a yellow brew that is about as pale as possible. The cap is about a finger with decent retention. After the foamy head falls lacing doesn't seem to wanna stick.

S- Pale, grainy Pils malts are the driving force and focal point of the beer/style with hints of light apple, bread, spicy hops and grassy tones.

T- Semi sweet as once again the grainy Pilsner malts form a base for other flavors to gravitate around. Pale fruit esters, corny hint, yeast bread, lemony citrus and spicy hops.

MF- Appropriately on the light side of things but for me it doesn't feel watery or thin as a foamy, slightly creamy texture falls on the palate. Carbonation is on the high side providing a crisp edge.

I feel like I have had this before but I suppose it would have been a long time ago. Rather happy about Ballast Point switching over to a lot of canned offerings. Pale as it gets with Pils malts and lager yeast in the drivers seat.

S-lemongrass, pale malts yeast , bread and grain
T- crisp pale malts with a touch of light hops lemon and citrus peel
M- crisp and dry with medium carbonation
O-nice lager wheat style brew easy to drink with enough taste
