Our Victory at Sea Imperial Porter is a bold, smooth brew with just the right amount of sweetness. We infused this robust porter with whole vanilla beans and San Diego’s own Caffe Calabria coffee beans. The subtle roasted notes and minimal acidity of the cold brewed coffee, balances perfectly with the sweet caramel undertones of the malt, creating a winning combination for your palate.

Big coffee and vanilla in aroma, with a bit of that fresh bean character that I find offputting. I'm sensitive to vanilla, and this is over the top, for me. Not a huge coffee fan, either.

Flavor is similar, with that bean character and roast malt emerging initially, and vanilla overtaking the finish. There's a slightly acrid coffee character in the bitter, roasty finish. Malt sweetness and notes of chocolate complement the vanilla fairly well.

Not my favorite flavor profile, but it's a decent beer. Smooth mouthfeel and rich, but more bitter in the finish than I'd prefer.

22oz bottle pour. Phenomenal - from the first sniff to the last sip. Big notes of roasted chocolate and huge swathes of vanilla pervade the nose and the taste. Beautiful tan foam head on the pour, with a medium body and mouthfeel. This is stellar. The coffee notes are not acrid at all - but provide a good dose of body and kick to this imperial porter. Booze is hidden at 10% - goes down almost too well here. This is a beer I have had my eye on for a while and it was worth the wait.

Black in appearance. Frothy white head. Smells like a beer ashtray, didn't care for that. Tastes is full and very good. Vanilla notes and a nice roasted coffee backbone. Texture like a silk pie.

12oz : tulip

Pours black with a foamy light brown head.

Aroma and taste are roasty coffee and cocoa, with lightly sweet, rich vanilla notes upfront.

Medium body, lightly viscous, mild carbonation.

A very well done Imperial Porter. Rich flavors, without becoming decadent.
