Interesting ... had this beer over 2 days. Found that I liked it considerable more the 2nd day when used in conjunction w/ a spicy mexican meal. I always try to put in my 2 cents before reading the other reviewing. Curious as to their comments.
coffee brown, w/ little head
burnt molasses smell
also a burnt molasses taste. but not sweet. It also had an interesting after taste that I couldn't identify, but found that I enjoyed more on the 2nd day. Hoping to see if other reviewers can identify that flavor better than I.
right amount of carbonation (minimal for a porter). pleasant
glad I waited til the 2nd day to rate. Expect to buy again in the future.

Deep black color with red beams when exposed to light and a thick caramel head with medium retention and leaving laces.
Aroma of roasted malts, cocoa and light milked coffee. Mild, but nice.
Bold but balanced flavor cocoa, coffee, spices, earthy and citrusy hops, some dark fruits, nuts and caramel and roasted malts. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Medium bordering full smooth body with appropriate carbonation.
Superbly balanced porter and very pleasant to drink. Not extremely hopped, but sure more interesting than traditional. Worth trying.
