Pours a clear deep amber color with a foamy long lasting head. Lace trails coat the glass on the way down. The aroma is moderately hoppy with pine and citrus showing, balanced by a biscuity maltiness. The taste follows suit with citrusy, grapefruit hops balanced by a toasty, bready malt profile. Herbal hop bitterness shows with warmth. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with plenty of carbonation. The finish moderately bitter and also malty and grainy.
This is a great IPA, very well balanced. By San Diego standards it's restrained, but still very quaffable and delicious.
