Served in Chalice
A: Good head, straw body.
S: Nose does not hint a lot at the grapefruit bomb that awaits. Wet driftwood and grapefruit rinds.
T: Grapefruit bomb reels you, but this is not a one hit pony. With enough maltyness to balance it out, this gives you a lot to think about. The booze never really introduceds itself in a forward way but it is such a big beer in terms of flavor. I was really impressed with the hop balance (apparently there are 4 hop varieties including the relatively new "citra". Starts tight and then becomes expansive. It may be the heat getting to me but this is the best ipa I've had in long time.
M: Carbonation and hops drive, and some subtle malt controls from below.
D: Hot day, give me one or five.
Serving type: on-tap
