Poured from a 22oz bottle into a standard pint glass.
A - gorgeous beer. A somewhat rocky, two and a half finger off white head forms above a brilliant mahogany colored beer. One of the best looking beers Ive had in a while. Nice lacing left from the head.
S - earthy and very piney. boozey.
T - its all about the bitterness. Very firm, resinous, bittterness with lots of pine. A nice course bitterness lingers on the palate. Alcohol present - you can tell this is a bigger beer when you're drinking it. Somewhat ne dimensional.
M - full bodied, almost creamy. Although I prefer my hoppy beers to be drier, I think if this were any more attenuated, it wouldnt hold all the alcohol and bitterness.
D - low for me due to the high IBU and alcohol.
Overall, a fantastic looking beer that is solid all around. mmmm- eye candy. I wish the taste were a bit more complex or followed up with more/different late hops.
