On-tap at Hollingshead's,
A: Pours a clear straw yellow with a medium white head, solid lace.
S: Heavy green chile, smoke, pepper.
T: Big direct jalapeño flavour with a lot of capsaicin. Good underlying Helles flavour. Good malt character, though overall the chiles dominate.
M: Light-bodied, very crisp and clean. Hot and spicy and direct.
O: To me this is the beer that Crazy Ed's wishes it could be. Jalapeño heavy, but exceptional balance with the base beer. I liked it a lot, but I'd really like some food next time. It can be a bit much to drink on its own.

On tap at Tony's Darts Away in Burbank, CA.
Pours a hazy light yellow with a foamy beige head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, smoke, jalapenos, and pickled jalapeno juice. Taste is much the same with a jalapeno flavor on the finish. There is a mild amount of jalapeno heat in the throat with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a nice jalapeno presence in the smell and taste.

Pours a slightly hazy light golden color with a pure white head. Powerful chili pepper nose with notes of banana. Medium-bodied, wet mouthfeel. Smoky jalapeno flavor with a lingering capsicum burn. Fun beer. Nicely refreshing. I'm a whore for chili beers.
