Very nice pour with a good finger of beautiful white head. Perfect amount of carbonation throughout the beer. Smells exactly like a Sculpin should, the perfect San Diego IPA with subtle notes of grapefruit zest or mist. First taste is Cali hops and grapefruit in the most wonderful marriage of flavor and aroma any beer lover would die for.

Pours clear and golden with a minor half finger head of white. Decent retention and wispy bands of lace, good enough but I know real fruit really damages appearance of beers.
White grapefruit comes screaming out of the glass almost one dimensional but with a bit of warmth you get the underlying tropical dried mangoes and pineapple Sculpin is known for with just a bit of bubblegum and pine in the finish. Whoa.
Nicely balanced with malt adding sweetness but little flavor allowing the white grapefruit flavor to dominate with a backing of dried pineapple and mangoes and the pine is lost, replaced with a herbal and minty hop kick. Bitterness is moderate with a juicy and tempered finish.
Medium bodied with good carbonation. Alcohol is felt but not tasted. Lacks the drying of a typical hopped up beer but is so juicy and the grapefruit does give an impression of some drying.
Stunning use of grapefruit that doesn't hold back. A bit too much forward in that brand of citrus but that's what I was expecting and looking forward to anyway. Best with food and really begins to open up when left to sit a bit.

Served in a half-pint glass at Ale Arsenal.
Good head tops a perfectly clear golden beer.
The smell is juicy and delightful. Citrus is unmistakeable and grapefruit is divineable. Citrus peel and a pleasant acidity.
Oh good god. I suspect they make this with actual grapefruits. This tastes more like a soda than a beer. Fizzy, fruity, tart, and bitter. The bitterness seems to come from rind, rather than hops. Very interesting, but not very...Sculpin-y. Deceptively refreshing; this doesn't feel like drinking. The finish is long and grapefruit juicy. (Not to sound like a broken record, but it's REALLY obvious.)
A little one-dimensional for me, but tasty enough.
