Visited the Brewery today and I must say that it was a very nice day had!
My buddy and I first started off with some samplers before the tour began. We drank some rocktoberfest, sexstant, sculpin and piper down... all great beers. I have to say that sculpin is one fine IPA... however I'm a big big fan of dorado.
The atmosphere was pretty cool and the only reason why I give it 5 stars is for the SpeakEasy they have otherwise it would have been 4stars as I kind of expected more "eye candy" on the walls. Local Brewery needs some more local flare! The one thing that sticks out while you visit ballast point is the laid back attitude(unlike some north county folk) Everyone at the brewery was awesome! Shout out to Kaaren, Amber, Yuseff and Jack!
The tour started and there was about 7-9 of us checking out the Brewery. It was a great atmosphere there with Yuseff and Jack. I was blown away with the great delivery and awesome amount of information from Yuseff. That guy really puts on a great tour! Yuseff and Jack didn't shy away from any questions and were really giving the "dirt" of what we can expect from Ballast Point coming soon and into the future! Most of us know about beer and the process to brew such awesomeness... but the one thing that is interesting for us out west especially is Distilling of Spirits... We don't get to tour as easily the big time distillers like Jack Daniels for instance like people on the east coast. So to see this and the process it takes was pretty cool! One thing is for certain, Yuseff takes great pride in making very "tasty" Spirits. The art of making a good cocktail is making its was back from the prohibition and speak easy days. I saw Ballast Point really becoming a top notch Distiller in the near future during the tour today. Gin, Rum and Whiskey is what you can expect from Ballast Point Spirits.
All in all the trip to the brewery today was a blast and anybody in San Diego that is waiting to go... Get to the Point!

The review is need on our visit in March of 2017 at the Long Beach, CA location.
WOW! We are from southwest PA, and this place was such an experience to remember. Sat on the deck over looking the water as the sun was beginning to set.....A beautiful ending to our vacation (despite almost being mugged at a doughnut shop on the main drag in Long Beach) during a very rough time in our lives....
We tried at least 6 beers.... What a memory....

Great place to taste you way through a very wide variety of beers from Ballast Point. If you like, you can also take a tour of the brewery. There's also a small gift shop on site if you were looking for some clothes, glasses, signs, etc

Tucked in an industrial park is the glorious brewery. Just about all of their currently available beers on tap with a number of limiteds and flavor variants that aren't easy to get. Tours happen on a regular basis which is a nice little thing to do. Decent gift shop for some goodies to take homeaswell.

Honestly I'm interested why they cost so much. Truly not worth it. Just hops shoved in a bottle to call it a beer.

By far, the best tap room I've been to. Odd location in the middle of a residential area but tons of Taos, experimental brews, great patio and grilling outside
