I was introduced to Caffé del Parco by an Italian friend and work colleague (grazie Claudia!). It's a small café/pub inside Parco di Monza near the Villasanta entry gate (Porta di Villasanta). Owner and operator Roberto knows his beer and has been recognized by a number of Italian beer publications for his dedication to serving the beers of Belgium. There are three taps for draft beer - in my visits I have seen Affligem, Wiekse and Brand on tap. The majority of the selection is in bottles and includes; Westmalle, Maredsous, Chimay, Orval, St. Martin, Duchesse De Bourgogne and the list goes on. Also there are several German, Dutch and UK beers. Roberto has impeccable attention to detail with serving technique and proper glassware. He also offers a quality selection of artisan cheeses and sausage for your aperativo pleasure. The pub atmosphere is small and intimate with many regular patrons enjoying quality beverages. There are some tables inside as well as a large patio/garden area for outside seating. There is nothing quite like enjoying a great beer under the trees in the Parco di Monza. The only suggestion I might offer is for the pub to include some beers from artisan Italian breweries such as: Birrificio Doppio Malto, Birrificio Italiano and Birrificio Le Baladin. Visitors should be aware that the pub hours of operation are limited to the open hours of the park (it closes early). I highly recommend Caffé del Parco.
