This ale defines the style. A slight aroma of blueberry, balanced by a subtle flavor that gets fermented into this delicious wheat ale.

12 oz bottle into my Peoples Pint Pied pIPA pint glass
A - very light amber, lots of foamy head, optically translucent.
S - blueberries from a mile away, smells like bad chewing gum
T - like someone put a jolly rancher in there, sweet plus bitter
M - light, drinkable, might be better on a hot summer day
O - not terrible, just not my style

Poured on tap into a wheat ale glass in Seekonk MA. From notes consumed on 10-8-2012.

A fourteen carat gold body, quite clear, with lively carbonation. Head is presented about a finger deep with a very bright white and also a real creamy appearance. Beer is also served with floating blueberries in the glass though.

Nose brings some light blueberries sort of canned smelling, even a little bit of a powdery yeast bent also. Not too bad.

Palate hits with very light malts, but not much beer like backbone. Creamy blueberry fruit character hits in the finish just barely, but with some toasty grain qualities. Mouthfeel actually has a bit of pleasant creamy character as well, but a little thin.

Overall not too bad, a fairly enjoyable fruit beer, although I wish they would stop serving these things in places with blueberries in them.

My wife really enjoys tasting blueberry beers and I will normally share the first one with her to review it. As this one goes, it's not bad, but it wouldn't top the list as my favorite.

Served in a bottle, it poured a sharp, translucent golden color with a fine white head. It smelled citrusy and a little floral. First taste was also citrusy, the blueberry flavor was just an undertone. The flavor ended with a bit of a hoppy bite that ledt an almost smoky aftertaste.

It could be a refreshing beer, coming in from the heat of summer, drinkable and fairly smooth.

Pours light and clear with a fizzy head.

Smells like blueberries. Really, really smells like blueberries.

Tastes rather like blueberries, too, with really mild hops in the background. Too sweet and too close to a fizzy malt beverage for my enjoyment. I can see how this could be refreshing on a hot summer day, but it's a little weak and thin compared to my usual go-to beers.

It goes down easy, but without much pleasure. The real rub is this: a full two hours later, my burps (oddly frequent) still taste like blueberries. This cut into my enjoyment of both the red pepper hummus I ate and the Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale (one of my all-time favorites) that I drank to make up for this experience.

I bought this when I was trying to convince my fiancee that she liked beer, which kind of backfired and left me with some stuff that I'd just as soon not drink (look out, Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, 'cause you're next). I couldn't even pawn it off on the people we had over; they took PBR over fruit beer.

12oz bottle with best by March on the label. The beer was a hazy yellow with a small white head. It had a sweet aroma, somewhat citrussy. Taste was vaguely sweet, couldn't really detect any blueberry. Pretty weak. I'm not a big fan of fruit beers, but didn't think this was a particularly good example of the style.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. There is a best before the month of Oct. notched on the label.

Appearance: It has a pale yellow body with a slightly hazy appearance. The pour yields a tall bright white head that fades down to just a ring of bubbles. Lacing is slick and slides right down the glass.

Smell: The aroma has hits you with notes of blueberry as soon as the cap is popped off. Natural blueberry, grain and some mild spicy hops are all noticeable in the nose.

Taste/Mouth: The flavor is a copy of the aroma. There are light blueberry notes mixed into light pale grain and biscuit malt with a touch of spicy (peppery) hops. It finishes a little tangy and with some hops bitterness and spice. The palate has a light to medium body with some active, almost fizzy carbonation.

Notes: It has a decent blueberry flavor but it is just a little bit on the thin side. Still, its not bad at all and very refreshing.

Presentation: 12 oz brown bottle with an enjoy by date on the side of the label.

Appearance: Fast to froth but little stickage as the head struggles to stay together. Pale yet dull copper colour shows its brightness.

Smell: Light blueberry aroma, not of fresh blueberries but processed blueberry aroma. Faint grain in the back says that it is still a beer.

Taste & Mouthfeel: Light bodied with a soda like cripsness, grain in the back. A dull blueberry flavour gives off a processed character. Light on the hopping with more clean grain middle to end. Dry and crisp finish rounds things out.

Notes: An uninteresting fruit beer and overrated IMO.

12 ounce bottle, w/o freshness/best before info being available.

Pours light golden amber, clear, minor head, no collar and no lace....meh..

I'm just getting a slight sugary sensation on the nose.

Light, near flavorless brew. Perhaps a slight fruity note..if I close my eyes and imagine, I do get the taste of a blueberry, but perhaps...ah whatever, this is thin, lacking any and all interest and intrigue...expensive lawn mower beer is the best I can come up with...pass this one by.

Appearance: clear, gold in color, high carbonation, one inch head

Smell: blueberries

Taste: semi-sweet blueberries and a touch of grass

Mouthfeel: light bodied, high carbonation, crisp, sweet

Drinkability: One of my two favorite blueberry beers out there. I could have a six. Super sessionable. The blueberry taste does not seem artificial.

Bottle (2011)

A clear golden yellow with a quickly forming white head and plenty of visible carbonation. Falls away quickly but leaves nice lacing down the glass.

Aromas of fresh blueberries and some mild grain. Simple, sweet, and fresh.

Taste follows the nose as this tastes more like fresh blueberries than it does of any hop or malt character. As a fan of blueberries, I'm fine with this, but it's not much more than blueberry sweetness and a hint of bready grains to go along with it. Simpe, sweet.

Pleasant enough, a touch syrupy, but good carbonation.

A simple and sweet blueberry treat. I couldn't drink more than one, but it's certainly tasty and the blueberry flavor seems authentic and fresh. A pleasure to drink one, but I wouldn't think of having more than that.
