pours a golden straw hue with a frothy white thin head that leaves a spot or two of lace. aroma is relatively non-existent... straw and pale malt as it warms, with hints of chemicals and earth. taste is pale and weak. hints of wheat, hints of straw. a bit grassy. not really getting the lemon except in a funky citric finish. mouth is light with an overbearing offensive carbonation that kind of burns and kills any light enjoyable flavor that might be hiding in there. wanted to like this one, but it just falls short of being anything impressive. (548 characters)

Disappointing. Smell was encouraging but first taste was suprisingly lacking any real flavor or feel. Extremely watery, faint lemon hint, definitely won't buy again. (167 characters)

This one is an easy-drinking summer beer that I buy at least once or twice every year.
Pours a nice light gold. Nice lemon aroma. Taste is crisp, light and with a enough lemon at the end to be pleasing without being overpowering. Not a bad gateway beer, and good on a hot day. (282 characters)

12oz brown bottle. Freshness marked as "enjoy by Aug."

Pours a very pale, straw-ish yellow colored beer, touch of haze, with scattered slow moving carbonation bubbles. Quick white foam heads dies to a translucent wispy lacing of almost nothingness.

Neutral aroma.

Light bodied with a bland feel on the palate and touch of carbonation tingle. Malt flavors are also bland, with some sweetness. Wheatiness comes through a bit, a bit cereal-like, but this too is bland. Though a touch of breadiness mingles in with some tannins as the beer warms, giving the beer some much needed character. Little hop flavor or bitterness, expect for a very watery melon / rind flavor. Touch of fruity something in there too. Hint of an herbal offering and a honey-ish note. Drying lackluster finish.

Hmm ... I guess if you wanted a beer that you didn't really have to think about and wanted to suck down your neck in the hot summer ... this could be your beer. And I get it, that's the point of this beer, but it still offers little and I hate seasonal stereotypes that lack on purpose, so I'll leave it at that. (1,105 characters)

The warm weather is here in Boston ... time for some summer beer to start off with.

12 oz brown bottle with a freshness date on the label, good head retention and a shimmering pale golden color.

Shortbread biscuit aroma with some hints of lemon zest, clean yet fragrant.

Moderate body and fluffy palate, crisp wheat with a mild bubble gum undertone up front. Touch of lemon peel and hop bitterness are the quencher here. Nice clean and drying finish.

This is one light yet tasty summer brew, I could see getting it by the case and serve it up nice and cold. (569 characters)

Appearance: 1/4 inch head, clear, straw yellow in color, moderate carbonation

Smell: lemon and straw

Taste: leamon and straw

Mouthfeel: light body, slightly bitter, and medium/light carbonation

Drinkability: Another light and not overly memorable summer time beer. Wachusett has way better beers in their line up than this. Not bad, but nothing I would pick up again. (371 characters)

A- pours a super clean pale yellow with minimal head
S- sweet citrus mixed along with wheat
T- I would say this meets the style perfectly, its light with some lemon laced sweetness along with wheat.
M and D- Really crisp and clean. The perfect summer beer, best of the summer ales I've tasted this year. (307 characters)

This one is a clear, yellow gold color, plenty of good carboantion and a thin, lacy-white head that dissipates pretty quick.

The aroma is of husky wheat 'n corn, herbal with a thin and light malt scent way down deep.

The flavor is exactly the same with slighly more citric edge, light lemmons but mostly earthy wheat and corn flavor in a very light and crisp feeling malt. The crispness seems to die a bit as time goes on.

not too bad in the hot summer sun. (464 characters)

Poured into a standard pint glass. Enjoy by date of July 2011 on the label.

A - This beer pours a clear straw color. A very thin foamy white head forms as well.

S - Mostly wheat and a hint of lemon. A bit of pale malt in there as well.

T - Bready with some lemon zest. Lots of grain in there too. I'm trying to like this but there isn't much flavor to be honest.

M - Light bodied with a low/medium carbonation level.

O - I'm a fan of Wachusett, but this beer is just a disappointment. Just because its a summer beer doesn't mean it has to be devoid of flavor. I would drink one at a BBQ if offered but only if the option was this or BMC. (646 characters)

I'm going to have to assume this is the same as Wachusett Summer. The aroma is a touch spicy with sweet cereal note thats like honey nut cherrios. The flavor profile is light and clean with a touch of lemon over the wheat. The mouthfeel is effervescent and very quenching. It doesn't quite stand up to Brooklyn or Sam Adam's summer ales, but its still a nice, lighter beer. (373 characters)

These Wachusetts beers all seem to have the same lines, great taste but not much complexity underneath that taste. In a way it seems like that should be the way all things should seem. This beer follows that pattern. Very light tasteing beer, and pale yellow color characteristics. Poured as a craft beer should, but nothing special, brew master took care in making this one. Very little to offer other than its tastes, but that characteristic is special. (455 characters)

8/27...pours light pale gold, a little dirty, light white foam. Heavy wheat nose, light yeast, light citrus. Taste is a wheaty blend - dry finish. Some citrus in the aftertaste. Plain but refreshing. (199 characters)

Fairly decent beer by Wachusett Brewing. Very light and a good taste. I am more for the IPA's so this is fairly light to me. Definitely one to try..... (151 characters)

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on July 11, 2013.

It has a foggy pale yellow to nearly white colored pour not unlike a witbier. The carbonation is excitable and builds up to a lingering fizzy white head.

The nose exclaims "summer is here" with mellow pale malts, wheat, and a twist of fresh lemon on the backside.

The body is summery light which is just right for the style.

The taste echoes the esters of the nose on my palate with an upfront but pleasant wheat note, biscuit, pale malts, mild sweetness, and a hint of lemon. Slight dryness at the end. It is great for a humid, hot New England day like today. (618 characters)
