Draught served in pint glass. Beer is medium orange amber with a bit of white head. Aroma suggests not much went into this IPA as far as dry hopping goes. Flavor is hoppy but quite drinkable. Reasonably well balanced, and very neutral in the aftertaste, but pretty average on flavor, too. Decent lacing, at least. Not at all a "Monsta", this could be quite sessionable, if it was worth your time.

A clear golden orange in color with a thin off-white head. Aromas of caramel and lemon. Taste begins with some apricot, then some light caramel, then some herbal grassy flavors. The finish is piney and minty. Mouthfeel is good. Overall a pretty good ipa.

Served on-tap at M. J. O'Connor's Irish Pub (Waterfront location) in Boston, MA

A: Pours a hazy golden bronze in color with some light to moderate amounts of visible carbonation and some golden orange highlights. The beer has a finger tall slightly sudsy white head that reduces to a thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer with a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing were observed.

S: Light to moderate aromas of toasted biscuit and caramel malts with some tropical/floral hops aromas of peach along with a stronger aroma of pine hops.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of toasted biscuit and caramel malts that give it just a touch of sweetness. That is followed by the slightly stronger than moderate flavors of tropical/peach/mango and strong pine hops. Moderate amounts of bitterness (which is somehow not aggressive) which fades pretty quickly.

M: On the lighter side of medium bodied with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of carbonation. Strangely, it was a little creamy (as if it was a nitro-pour but since I watched the bartender pour it, I know it was not).

O: I found this beer to be fairly easy to drink and quite enjoyable - a nice beer for an early Friday afternoon of a long weekend of vacation. I found the hop presence to be good but more East coast style (rather than the aggressiveness of a West cost style). I could probably have a couple of these in a session because it drinks a little lighter than it is.

From 08/30/12 notes. Had this on tap at Standings, served in a pint glass.

a - Pours an amber-orange color with one inch of bright white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells of light citrus hops and some light pine hops. Nice, though not as strong as I would have liked, At it warms up some caramel malts too.

t - Tastes of citrus hops, grapefruit, pine hops, fruity malts, and some caramel malts. Hop pine hops here than the nose.

m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. No real bitterness, pretty easy to drink.

o - Overall a pretty nice IPA. A little on the malty side, though some nice pine in the taste. Would have it again.

Got this one on tap at where else but Fenway Park.

A: light amber color. Nice foamy head that quickly went down, but retained its lacing all the way to the end of the beer

S: alot of floral hops to this one. Really sweet and pleasant.

T: on the front end really sweet...really get a full blast of the floral hops. Not as much in terms of bitterness on the back end. A bit, but not as bitter as it coulda been.

M:  medium body. Light enough to be perfect for a summer night at the ball game.

O: pretty refreshing beer. The floral smell and taste are really nice but it could be a bit stronger with the buttering hops. But still wicked refreshing. Would limit to 1-2 for a session though.

Served on-tap at MJ O'Connor's in Boston, Mass.

A: Clean, orange-amber color beneath a frothy head of thin, white foam which left little lacing above the loose carbonation.

S: Sweet and fruity with wafts of citrus and pine in the hop aroma.

T: Nice, sweet caramel malt flavor up front with a little bit of toasted grain. The fruity esters flash quickly before the spicy, floral and bitter hop resins kick in. They are short-lived, however, as the moderate, toffee-like bittersweet finish settles in, leaving some mild hop resins on the palate.

M: Pretty well-balanced, a little sticky sweet up front and sharp and grainy at points, but overall pretty average.

O: Not a bad American IPA at all, and certainly one with good balance. The 6% ABV makes it a good choice for a bacon-cheeseburger pairing to break up fats and add some spices to the palate. Outside of that, I probably wouldn't have more than one in a session.

Had this on tap at BBC in Franklin, MA as an opening day promo for the Red Sox. Beers pours a bronze amber with about a finger of fluffy off-white head. Moderate retention and lacing.

Smell is hoppy, but muted. Mostly centennial hops. It's not a hop bomb and it doesn't smell like one. An inviting aroma.

Taste was slightly underwhelming. It's hoppy, but not overly citrusy, piney or bitter. A touch of malty sweetness was present. All in all, the flavor was nice, but just not pronounced enough for my taste and somewhat of a lingering bitter after taste.

The mouthfeel was medium bodied, a touch oily but otherwise, it was a nice, middle of the road drinakble IPA. Pretty good if you're in the mood for a decent beer watching a ballgame, but not much more.

On tap in a shaker pint. See-thru light amber with a half-finger head that soon becomes a bubbly skim. Nice little band of lace up top, though.

Big grassy and herbal aromas overshadow anything else. They could have called this Green Grass IPA; it's absolutely one of the grassiest beers I've ever tasted. Kinda odd at first, but it grew on me. Mint and herbal notes, some cereal grain. Fairly bitter. Dry and crisp malt profile allows the hops to do their thing. Interesting take on the IPA style that took me from 'huh?' to contemplating a second pint.

The only time I have this beer is when I go to McCoy stadium to watch minor league baseball. This is the best (and one of only 2 craft) beers on tap at the stadium, so I always get it. It makes a great baseball beer. It has great flavor, unlike other "baseball beers" offered there. And I just associate it with relaxing with my dad at a ball game.

It's a dark golden brew, almost Abner....not exactly transparent. Head is fair and frothy, and sticks around for the entire time.

The nose is east-coast ipa all the way. Grassy, leafy hops with a touch of grapefruit and prominent caramel malts. The taste matches the aroma with a real nice balance between strong leafy hops and sweet caramel malts for balance. Touches of grapefruit are in the hop profile and the hops own the finish with a satisfying bitterness.

Above average in body weight with an almost frothy mouthfeel. mouthfeel. A little resiny feel to it.

I always find this to be a surprisingly good ipa that nobody talks about. There are better IPAs, but there's no reason most people wouldn't enjoy this enough. I enjoy it very much while spending a night at the ballpark watching minor-league ball.

On-tap 5/15/2011 at Doherty’s East Ave Irish Pub in Pawtucket, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a bright golden brown, with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a spotty but thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains floral hops, caramelized malts and fruity citrus.

T: The taste starts with sweet flavors of citrus fruits and a little caramel. Then a strong but not over-powering hops presence comes in. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and provides a very good balance. The after-taste is slightly hoppy and slightly sweet.

M: Smooth and very crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: Very tasty, goes down very easily, not too filling, decent kick, very good representation of style, not sure what caused Wachusett to re-create the Green Monsta recipe, but this beer is a very nice choice to drink for a whole evening.

Love the name...go Sox! Maybe I'm partial due to the Red Sox connection, and maybe it was because they were playing on the tube at the bar, but I was impressed with this beer. Dark honey in color, with a fresh and light scent. Nicely balanced with a good bitter finish. Wicked Pissah!

A = Distinctly amber, with a respectable head that leaves ample lacing.
S = Hoppy without hitting you in the face, and a sweet fruitiness to the malt.
T = A slightly maltier IPA, nothing too dry or too bitter. I like it!
M = Medium bodied, just the right amount of lingering on the tongue.

O = I'm not an IPA fan, but this one is nice. The hop/malt balance is just right, and the fruitiness is a nice surprise. The hops don't assault, rather they add admirably to the complexity of this brew. I think this would pair nicely with just about any food that is traditionally served at Fenway Park -- GO, Boston Redsox!!

Best by 2/28/14.

Poured from the 12 oz. bottle into an Innis & Gunn flute.

a: Clear dark amber with a finger thick white head which receded fairly quickly to sudsy surface foam and dense lacing.

s: Mild caramel malt.

t: Pine hops forward over medium malt base, bitter and at first slightly metallic aftertaste.

m; Light to moderate.

o: An ok stronger-than-average IPA, probably great at a Red Sox game in the summer. So I'm drinking it in the wrong season. But I like to change it up. I already had a malty winter beer earlier, and plan to have a stout later. This one does not seem to have a lot of flavor competing with the hop bite, but it is refreshing.

Appearance: Pours a clear amber color; a rather modest head pancakes its way down leaving a few squiggles of lace

Smell: Grassy, with peach and pine accents

Taste: Bready malts buttress the unusual hop flavors of this brew - grassy, with peach and pine tones; very herbal and assertively bitter, after the swallow

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: While I like the peach element that is almost hidden by the other hop flavors, I really didn't care for the grassy/piney blend that dominated; an interesting and different sort of an IPA, just not something I particularly enjoyed

12oz bottle with a Best By Date of the Ides of March 2014. One of the 4 beers in the Box of Brews mix 12 pack. Pours a coppery amber color with a half inch of head. Good amount of lacing. The aroma is piney hops with some orange peel and lemon. The taste is alot less hoppy than the aroma with more of a malt presence. Some spicy hops with floral bitterness at the end. Hints of lemon. Lots of carbonation. Overall, its a decent brew to have in a mix pack but I probably wouldn't seek it out on its own.

Hand carried back for me by the parents after a recent US trip.

Clearish golden colour with a big, fluffy white head. Some lacing.

Bright tropical fruit aroma. Some citrus. No pine. Light sweetness. Okay.

Slightly fruity. Mild bitterness. Sweet malt body.

Medium body with moderate carbonation. Okay.

A middle of the road, straight forward IPA. More like a Pale Ale in my book but it does the job.

12 oz. brown bottle. Has best by date.

A: Pours hazy copper color with a large off white fluffy head. Lovely retention with
nice sticky rings of lacing.

S: Faint citric herbal hops. Some fruits and a hint of malty bread.

T/M: Dry bitter hops. Light herbal flavors. Hints of fruit with a thin layer of maltiness.
Starts off cool and smooth, then turns drier with more bitterness. The finish is mostly
dry with the linger of hops oils.

O: There are a lot of American styled IPA's popping up lately and most of them are
being left in the dust of the more superior offerings. This one is left somewhere
in between. Easy to drink with enough hop flavor to satisfy, yet lacks where it
counts to make it a real stand out.

Cheers!!

Got this as part of a sampler pack from a beer mailing club. Served from a bottle into a pint glass.

A - pours a beautiful copper color with a nice light tan head that stays for a few minutes. It's long enough to really enjoy looking at the beer.

S - smells of citrus and lots of hops (obviously)

T - tastes of light citrus (mostly grapefruit) and spices. The hoppy bitterness is prevalent throughout each sip, and the after taste is of only hops.

M - medium mouth feel that leaves a dry finish, making you want more and more.

Overall, a decent IPA that doesn't stand out too much but is enjoyable.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on July 15, 2013.

It is an attractive amber-copper pour with a large lingering off-white head. Excellent clarity.

The aroma boasts a good supply of earthy and floral hops with a sweet Belgian sugar and roasted biscuit.

The body is light to medium and smooth.

The taste does establish itself as an IPA with the earthy and floral hops but the Belgian influence can also be found with a mellow Belgian sugar note and pale, biscuit malts. There is a sort of pear or apple thing going on as well. I enjoyed it.

A - Poured from a 12oz. can. A nice a cold brew with a golden haze. Unfiltered goodness.

S - An excellent hop aroma right off the bat. Citrus notes as well.

T - A light and crisp session-able IPA with a high percentage. Perfect for sox games!

M - Light, not very complex, but certainly drinkable.

O - I'd recommend this to anyone looking for that Boston feel who can't get to Fenway!

I've had many of these ever since I found them in 12 packs in cans. Found fairly priced at $13 - $15 for 12 pack. Poured into glass is best, but by the pool or in a cooler the cans are ideal. This ale really surprised me, I find the balance of hops and malt very well done. It comes across more crisp and refreshing than many other IPAs so great for warm weather. I remember having it last year and it was just okay, not sure if they changed the recipe, but seems much better this year... or could it be that the Sox sucked last year and it tainted my taste buds? ha! As the Sox continue to win in 2013 it makes it taste all the better to enjoy during a Sox victory... btw, more for us as you never have to worry about any Yanks fans buying it...

Hazy orange copper color pouring a solid head. Smell of malt with some earthy hops.
Taste the malt with good bitter balance. Finishes dry.
Like this beer for it's apparent maltiness and hop balance, tastes bigger than it's 6% abv.
No strong flavor hops , might classify as a British style. Will have more !
