Pours out orange-brown and sits bright amber in the glass, nice gradation of colors, suitable for a large tuliped glass. Nice white head formed with forceful pour, leaves a nice skim on the surface with plenty of lacings.
Smells predominately malty and quite toasted. Biscuit and crakery aromas are the highlight of this beer. Faint caramel aroma and light traces of herbal hops.
Tastes mildly sweet up front and stays that way most of the way though. Nice and toasty, with a fair amount of spicy, herbal hops. Lacings of caramel tantilize the taste buds and lead into the soft, bitter finish.
Crisp and clean in the mouth with easy to handle carbonation. Medium body that goes the distance.
Quite easy to drink but is a pretty average beer. Nothing wrong, but nothing exciting. It's like eating Grandma's homecooking; it's not gourmet, but it'll do.
