I stopped here during my visit to New Orleans. This and Stein's was a nice change of pace from the usual beer offerings around New Orleans. You can only drink so much Abita.
It was a Sunday afternoon, with the football game on. Everyone was going bananas over the game. I didn't care much, but at least I knew I was getting the real deal here.
I ordered a hamburger with a side of fries and a NOLA Hopitoulas. The beer was good and the food was good (although, screwing up a greasy burger with fries is pretty tough). The service was fine, if you're a regular it's probably a bit better.
Cigarette smoke was waving around the bar. I didn't mind, but I can't say the same for the people I was with. They are too used to Wisconsin life I suppose.
This is a must stop place in New Orleans if you're after a good selection of beer and some good food. This place by far had the largest selection of beer on tap.

Okay. This is a neighborhood bar. But what a great neighborhood. Never closes. Good to great selection of beers, constantly rotating tap selection. Service is better than good if not great. Upstairs is very nice especially if you like Belgians or even if you do not. I have never eaten here, but have always been told it is good bar food. Restrooms are an experience but are serviceable.
This is the one place we look forward to going to every time we are in NOLA.
