I visited this establishment on 9/27/09 around 11pm for happy hour. Walked here for many blocks just to soak up the neighborhood. There are several subway locations that are more befitting near by.
Located in the restaurant distrit of Hell's Kitchen, its a great area.
Walked in to find nice shiney hard wood floors, wood panelling and wood booths.Bar stools lined up along the bar. Many tap and several cask offerings. On this pirticular night though there were no cask beers available.
Service is different here. Anything you want you pay for and order through the bartender. There are no wait staff here. There also is not a place at the bar to do the ordering, so you have to elbow your way through the crowd already seated or standing to place your order. This could really be improved by haveing a dedicated open spot to walk up and place your order.
This is why I gave an average rateing for service.
There was one high def flat screen tv over the bar too, which was nice if you want to follow a football game and sip on brews. I got to watch the Cardinals get pumled.
Atmosphere is good though. I didnt order any food, but did order 2 great beers and a coke for the wife. The bill came to $12, not bad priceing at all.
The bartender was friendly and seemed to want to chat. He said he was on BA too, even better.
I had a good time here, good priceing, nice quality and great atmosphere/ I recommend it if you are in the neighborhood.

Not a ton of taps (~20), but everything on tap was stuff you don't see at any other bar. Went on a Saturday night and it wasn't packed, but most seats were taken. Best part was all beers were $6. Great beer and it only cost $6!?! They also had two TVs playing the world cup! You wouldn't think that is all that impressive, but most "Craft beer" bars tend to ditch the TVs to promote conversation, but I enjoy my conversations with the game on in the background while I drink great beer. I'm going to make it a point to stop at the Pony Bar every time I hit the city.
