Since I was born/raised in Clifton and I frequently come back to visit my parents, I always make it a point to stop in at this place, as this was THE place to get good beer in Clifton not too long ago, and the place where I used to shop exclusively. However, with each additional visit, I get less and less impressed, as it seems as if the management is content to continue to build up its wine selection reputation while sacrificing its beer reputation. Another development is that since the neighboring Athenia section of Clifton is densely population with Eastern Europeans, there's a significant amount of shelf space devoted to Polish beers and the like. While this might be nirvana for the nearby locals, it isn't exactly great for a beer geek. As for the service, once I went in there and one of the younger workers was baffled as to why I didn't just buy a case of Corona instead of Kona, a Hawaiian brewery, that I was looking for to pair along with a luau party I was having. I guess some people think Mexican = Hawaiian. Not me.
I've been a little harsh but in all fairness, the selection is still pretty good. This review is more forward-looking, as it seems as if each time I visit, one more beer is dropped permanently from their shelves. This is not a good trajectory. Furthermore, while the prices on Bud, Heineken, Corona, etc keep going down, the prices on all micros keep creeping higher, more than likely to offset the former. Not good.

This is by far my "go to" liquor store. They have the best selection of beer in the Clifton area(in my opinion blows away Stew Leonard's in both selection and price). I go there roughly every other week if not every week to stock up and I end up walking out with more than what I went for because they are always re-stocking and getting in new items. The prices are very good...definitely cheaper than the Mom and Pop smaller stores(for imports and crafts) and for what I have noticed cheaper than the chain locations and supermarkets. Their selection of spirits is quite good as well, but I will keep this just to beer.
Whether you are looking for a seasonal special, a limited release from a smaller brewery(ex. I recently found one of Ommegang's Game of Thrones releases which tend to be hard to find), or just a mass produced favorite both chilled and not, you will find it here.
Unless I am out of the immediate area, I will shop nowhere else. There are only 2 other places within about 15 minutes drive time that even compare to the "Vinyard" so why would you go far or spend more when you can get what you need right here?
PS. They have a ridiculous wine selection, this the "Vinyard".

They have a great selection of beers and they will match or beat Stew Leonard's prices. Stone IPA for $9.99 a six pack and Ruination for $2.49. They even gave me a Lakefront IPA for $6.99 once. They also have some great prices on liquor as well. $42.99 for Ardbeg 10 Year.

A very good store just a couple minutes off Route 3 in Clifton. A good selection of beer. Carry Stone, Otter Creek, Allagash, Sierra Nevada, Flying Dog, Long Trail, Weyerbacher, Shipyard, Sixpoint, Duvel, Great Divide, Dogfish and various others. Also have a good selection of imports from various countries: Poland, Czech Republic, Belgium and England. Prices are reasonable and not expensive. Also, a good selection of single beer bottles which is nice. Allows you to try various beers without having to but a six pack. Good selection of wine, bourbon and scotch as well. Recommend

An easy stop on your way down bloomfield ave, this was the next logical place to visit for sure. More of a wine and liquor destination to be honest, but still deserves a mention. Your standard fair as far as offerings from the area, but lacing in belgians particulary. I notices they were six pack heavy which always tends to trim the 22 and 750 selection. Still though it was vert reasonable and nicely laid out. Not a bad stop, though there are much better closer by to stop in at. But you never can tell, so worth a shot.

Found this store on my way back from visiting another store in the Clifton, NJ area. Bit of a nice surprise to find stores so close to one another,
As I am quickly finding about about most liquor shops, the floorspace is dominated by wine and spirits, with one aisle dedicated to craft beers. The selection is nice for the area, with the usual NJ/NY suspects like Southern Tier, Unibroue, Stone, etc etc. A decent number of hefeweizen offerings too, which pleasantly surprised me. Didn't see Weihenstephaner though. They also had a few brews from the Great Divide Brewery, which was nice. Prices were about average, not too expensive.
Service was great. There were a few manager-type-looking people bustling about, but they took the time to ask if I needed help with anything, even at 11-ish in the morning.
Overall, a nice beer depot with a clean presentation, friendly staff and good selection.
