De Dulle Teve is brewed in the tradition of a Belgian Triple. Its high density stems from large amounts of pale malt increased with pale candi sugar in the brew kettle. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, bottle-conditioned.

De Dulle Teve keeps two to three years without major changes in taste. Further maturing, up to 10 years, will cause it to darken a little and lose some of its bitterness. The bittering of about 30 IBU is due to Goldings hops in the brew kettle.

Thanks to koopa for this one in a trade! Poured into my Chimay chalice.

A-Body is a very cloudy dark gold with some amber hues. Pours with a nice 2 finger creamy white head which fades to 1/2 finger and has perfect retention. Traces of lacing are left behind in the glass.

S-A Belgian candy sugar like sweetness comes through first followed by so sweet yeast. Floral hops and a touch of alcohol pack a big punch at the end.

T-Upfront are flavors of exotic fruit such as mango and peach...maybe some pineapple and a big sugary sweetness. Behind this is a healthy yeast backbone. A big punch of floral hops come through for the finish along with a touch of alcohol bitterness. A slight alcohol warmth lingers.

M-Low to medium carbonation and very smooth, creamy, yeasty body. There is an alcohol consistency in there too though, so beware.

D- Let this warm a bit before drinking it. Its downright awful and boozy when its cold. Once it warms a bit plenty of more complex characteristics come through and this one really shines. A pretty good beer overall.

Orange yellow color. Raisin smell. Similar raisin, red wine, juice flavor. Unusual for a triple. Very subtle effervescence. Limited hop or spice flavor as such.

Dulle Teve

Brouwerij De Dolle Brouwers Belgian Tripel

Bottle cap is 4/20/23 opened on 1/11/24

Red wine cork and maple oak in the nose. Sour candies with sweet honey. Tangy and sweet fermented fruits flavor is immensely potent with a tinge of sour tang. Mouthfeel is smooth and airy. Light and dry. White pepper over sour fruits and candi sugar. Definitely the fruitiness and most sour of any Tripel I've ever had. Tangy and soft is a thing of beauty.

A .330 ml bottle with a label that says 750ml. served in a Belgian snifter. A bottling date of August 2022 is stamped on the cap.
A gentle pour still produced a tall, foamy, off-white head. The body is clearly unfiltered. The flavor is relatively strong, funky and bitter for the style. It is no more boozy than expected for 10% ABV.

330ml bottle into a teku. Bottled April 2016, so 7 years old.

Dark golden body with a bright white head refreshed by streams of carbonation. Sweet malty aroma with fruit hints. Taste is sweet, smooth, and nicely warming.

11.2oz bottled Sept. 2020 (about 18 months ago) poured into a chalice at 53° Fahrenheit 10% ABV. The beer pours opaque, honey colored amber with very light khaki head. The head recedes to a thin ring and single layer of varied sized bubbles leaving just a few small bits of lacing. The aroma is fairly sweet with pale malt, berry and peach. The taste is semisweet and a hint tart with well attenuated pale malt, hints of berry and melon before a mildly bitter, citrus like finish. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with above average carbonation and a dry finish. No trace of the ABV in the aroma and just a touch in the taste. Overall, very good.
